Floyd Lawton a.k.a Deadshot is a famed assassin. He only works for the highest bidder, and can shoot a target without missing. Deadshot has many times shot at incredible feats. For example, Deadshot can fire a single bullet while on a movie train, plane, or car. Nothing is out of his reach. Being called "deadshot", because of how he only needs one bullet to get the job done. Floyd has traveled all around the world, killing various people. Usually for sport Deadshot says, if he doesn't get his money he will make a target out of the person that hired him. Floyd uses custom made weapons and a high tech power suit that allows him to take heavy damage in close combat. While he rarely has to do combat on a man vs man slug fight, Deadshot is always prepared. In Batman: Gotham Knight episode 6 (called Deadshot), Floyd was targeting various mayors and officials in Gotham City. This made Batman suspicious in, who hired the assassin. Eventually, when Commissioner Gordon was targeted, Batman intervened and protected Gordon from a bullet in the head. This drew Batman and Deadshot into 'close combat'. Things went bad for Deadshot, he underestimated Batman's ability in fighting. In the end, Batman held Deadshot over the train, and in fear, told Batman everything he knew. Outraged, Batman punched Deadshot and knocked him out.

In Floyd's childhood, his mother and father hated each other. Floyd's mom hated her husband so much, that she hired Floyd and his older brother to kill him. While Floyd hated his father also, he didn't want innocent blood (including the blood that gave him life) on his hands. Floyd refused the task and planned on warning his father. However, his mom and his older brother locked him in a closet, until the task was done. Floyd found a way to escape confinement and he grabbed a rifle so that he kill his father, and gain acceptance again from his mother and brother. While on a tree outside, Floyd was locked-and-loaded to kill his father. However, things didn't go as planned. Instead the tree branch snapped and Floyd accidentally killed his brother that he loved dearly. Living with guilt to this very day, Floyd takes jobs so that he can eventually die himself. While he doesn't want to commit suicide, he does not care if he lives or dies. He will just be happy when his mind is at peace.
