Characters

Ganta Igarashi a.k.a. Woodpecker
The latest innocent incarcerated at Deadman Wonderland. Ganta was falsely accused of the murder of his classmates. He is discovered to be a Deadman, a person who can manipulate their blood at will outside of their bodies. His "Branch of Sin", or power, allows him to collect his blood into a high-speed projectile that can be fired at people, which was nicknamed the "Ganta Gun" by Senji Kiyomasa.

Shiro
A sweet albino girl who becomes Ganta's first friend inside the prison. She is very childlike in nature and attitude, and is always clothed in a skin-tight bodysuit and fuzzy mittens. She's willing to do anything for Ganta, because she considers him her best friend.

Yoh Takami
A kleptomaniac who is also one of the first people that Ganta meets inside the Deadman Wonderland. At first, he seems very genial and polite, but it is soon revealed that underneath this kind exterior is a cruel and ruthless mind.

Tsunenagi Tamaki
The Assistant Warden of the Deadman Wonderland. Tamaki is extremely childlike in some ways, but is also extremely sadistic and greedy, as evidenced in his slaughtering of prisoners and twisted enjoyment of it.

Chief Guard Makina
The leader of the guard staff. Makina is a harsh person, unwilling to waver in her punishments. She is also known for carrying a sword around with her, to hurt those who disobey the rules of the Wonderland.

Senji Kiyomasa
The first Deadman that Ganta faces. Senji is a tall, powerfully built man, who makes use of the "Crow Claws", forming his blood into scythes attached to his forearms. After his defeat by Ganta, he loses his right eye and comes back with an eyepatch.
