Holy crap, I knew Renton was gonna snap sooner or later.

Also, I thought the comic was alright when I skimmed through it, though I personally think it gets more interesting (or maybe horrific) after the first few chapters when the fighting and the "Branch of Sin" comes into play.

I really dug the first volume. You all know I'm the first person to fall off the wagon when it comes to ongoing shounen action stuff though.

Yeah, when I first saw that preview image on the front page of the site I thought of Renton.

You know what the concept behind the points reminds me of? It makes me think of the relationships between the original coal mining workers and the owners in the 1940s. How they pretty much became owed to the company stores.  Pretty much if you ever heard that song "Sixteen Tons". The workers were only paid in vouchers that could only be spent at these stores owned by the companies that were paying them. It was this cycle of inhumanity and greed. This was before the unions and the era of the union-busters.

That actually makes things sound kind of interesting from a story/historical stand point. It does however feel like it could very well fall in line with movies with the same basis though. Possibly it will be revealed that the companies are actually paying to have people framed so they will have more people to compete. As was shown in the movie Running Man and Jason Statham's Death Race.
The story seems to have some potential that could possibly fall into a cliche trap.

Things were moving a lot in this video. Every time you shifted in this video things moved. Looked like you were filming on a boat.

You know when I saw review I was expecting Gia. I didn't look to see who posted it. Then the video plays and I'm like "WTF?! It's a guy! Oh wait it's John." This makes me think of that one prison movie that came out recently...that sounds bad doesn't it LOL. ;) Anyway, it's the movie where the guy is wrongfully imprisoned because the head jailer found out he was Speed Racer (not really but a car racer) and wanted him to race for her in exchange for his freedom. He has to compete in all these deadly races against other prisoners with over the top, military vehicles x race cars. So really not that new of a concept, but may be worth looking into.

@Lan: You're referring to the bad movie Death Race with Jason Statham and Tyrese Gibson, right? You should've seen the 70s version with David Carradine as Frankenstein (not that Frankenstein) and Sylvester Stallone as...whoever he was playing, I can't remember. It was also pretty cheesy, but at least the story was a bit more ballsy than the 2008 version of "Twisted Metal: The Movie."

@Lan: I'm glad I can shock you with my actual visage. That's reallll comforting. ^_^

@FoxxFireArt:
Have you read the Stephen King "Running Man" that it was supposedly based on? If not, I think you would dig it.
And yes, it apparently got a little wobbly at times. The tripod was apparently not super locked in.

@John_Martone:
I'm not really into Stephen King. I'm more into classic murder mysteries from Conan Doyle and Christie.
