Dan Straight News

Howdy everyone and welcome to the Fairy Tail report! Damn, we're almost done with the filler arc. Just hoping they don't stall with the final battles.

Plot

As Natsu and the gang are fighting Imitatia and Erza is fighting Cobra, Gray are in an intense battle with Angel who has a twisted view of the world.

Good

Gray's fight is "cool"

• Dan makes Gray's battle more fun. The action is good, but you always have the good Fairy Tail guy giving out reasons to debate with the bad guys. It's good to add these bad ass speeches, but talking about friendship can be so cliche.
• Imitatia's fight with Natsu and Elfman may be short and not finished, but we get to see her fight more.
• Angel's powers are interesting in how her life is represented by gold coins. She shortens her lifespan to summon angels.

Bad

Too much talk not enough action

• Multiple battles vs focusing on one battle: This is tough for me to decide, but what do you guys and gals like? If there's too much battles going on, the episode would be messed up and be confusing.
• Friendship and Too Much Talking: Besides Gray's little pep speech, Erza and Cobra talk way too much during their short time in the episode. I feel that they should just cover their whole fight in one episode instead of dividing it.
• Unneeded scenes: What was the point of showing all the Fairy Tail guild since they are just receiving messages from Warren's group at the ship? Nothing important happened.

Overall, this episode is good but not fantastic. Gray's fight is the highlight while Erza and Fairy Tail's scenes leave a lot to be desired. Next episode preview shows more of Erza's fight, so I'm guessing it'll be the episode where Erza and Cobra's fight will be finished.

Plot

Welcome everyone to the Weekly Fairy Tail report! It's another busy week in Anime Vice for everyone. Lots of anime series are ending this week such as Fate Zero. Luckily, Fairy Tail is still running.

As Lucy and the gang listen to Dan's life story, Pantherlily and Samuel duke it out in the skies. Meanwhile, Gajeel and his gang fight some Griffon Kato statues after obtaining a clock piece; Elfman and his sisters find their clock piece, but Mary Hughes is there to stop them. With Dan and Coco unable to do the job, Byro appears. Will the Fairy Tail gang stop Legion before they obtained the clock pieces?

Verdict

Good

The two lovebirds work together

• Finally, we get an Exceed Battle between Pantherlily and Samuel. It's a bit short, but their rivalry is great since both characters complement each other.
• Dan and Samuel share their background a bit. Dan's life is a bit light hearted when his quest for love ends with most women beating him up. I wonder why Lucy doesn't beat up Dan like she does with Natsu. Has she gone soft?
• Gajeel and Levy's relationship is improving to say the least. Jet and Droy's efforts are a bit humorous. I can see how the years went by for Levy's comrades.

Bad

They basically waited the whole episode while Lucy got chased by Dan

• Besides Pantherlily's battle and Gajeel's group getting the clock part, not much happens in this episode. Basically, Natsu's group's scenes is not that entertaining. They set up the battles for the next episode. I know they're stalling for the manga to get ahead of the anime. There are better ways to stall.
• Since they show Dan's origin story, they could have show some of Samuel's backstory or extended the fight scene between the two cats.

Overall, the episode is good but not satisfying enough to look forward each week. I'm stoked for Byro and Mary Hughes fights next week because Mirajane has another new form of Satan Soul. They better not disappoint the fans. In the episode preview, I'm puzzled why Erza's gang are in tight black spandex. I'm hoping we don't see the Big Butt Gang again.

Welcome to the Weekly Fairy Tail report! I'm Taka, and I'm glad to be with you guys and gals as we cover the 9th episode of the Key of the Starry Sky arc.

Plot

When Dan and Natsu crash into the chapel, Happy and Michelle has a plan to use Lucy as a decoy. Meanwhile, Erza and the gang meet the Big Butt Bandits where Wendy and Erza dons the bandits' trademark black, spandex suits. What in god's name is wrong with this episode?! Will Natsu and Erza's company beat their enemies?

Verdict

Good

Charle's nightmare is cute

• For the first time, Lucy's sex appeal actually works. I love how Happy cried at that moment even though Lucy used her seductive charms on the wrong men who have different taste.
• Speaking of Happy, Charle's nightmare is hilarious. She just scream which is out of character, but I enjoyed so well. An army of big booty Wendy in tight, black spandex is chasing Charle is a great scene.
• I can't talk about Erza's scene yet. It's pretty great.

Bad

• I find the scene with the Big Butt Bandits and Erza's group confusing. I don't know why Erza fools around with them and asks them silly questions instead of kicking their butts. It's a pretty boring scene until Wonderful Gocche pulls out a sneaky attack on Erza.

WTF Moment

I copy this element from FoxxFireArt's reviews just to change things for a little bit.

Erza gets a Point Blank Ecstasy

• When Wonderful Gocche jumps in front of Erza with his behind pointing at her and unleashes a Point Blank Ecstasy attack, I felt bad for her. Plus, I can't believe I laugh at such a nasty scene.

Overall, the episode is good, but the Big Butt Bandits scene might be a hit or miss with the fans. In the next episode, Pantherlily takes on Samuel who has a second form like him. I feel psyched for next week's episode.

Team Fairy Tail of Anime Vice

Plot

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekly Fairy Tail report. We're still in the filler arc as team Fairy Tail hunting down the 4 remaining keys. Let's go over this week's episode.

Under the desert sands, Natsu and his gang confront Dan Straight and Coco. While Natsu fights Dan, Lucy and her group search for the clock piece after Lucy helps Coco. Meanwhile, Gajeel's group arrives to the top of the mountain, and Erza's group finds a magical library where Erza finds a jiggly butt.

Verdict

Good

Dan's Dream Wedding with Lucy

• Dan Straight displays his love and creepy obsession over Lucy once Lucy shrunk. She looked awfully cute as Dan's strap.
• Happy gets into trouble a lot as he steps on his friends like Natsu. Only this time, Happy is big.
• Coco and Lucy: The scenes of Lucy helping Coco show how Lucy has a heart of gold. Lucy fans would love this episode.

Bad

• Hit or Miss: Not much action in this episode as Dan and Natsu's fight is barely started. For this filler arc, the emphasis is more on fan service and humor.

Bizarre

Erza's wearing the jumpsuit?!

• They're back:The Big Bandits make a second appearance. I see Erza and Wendy wearing their black jump suits in the episode preview.
• Dan Straight does not like to take off his armor even though Romeo filled his armor with stinky gas. How does Dan take a bath or go relieve himself?
• Bad Luck Lucy: I thought it was Natsu who getting his team into traps, but it's more of Lucy's fault.

Overall, this episode is not that bad. It's funny enough that it won't bore you guys and gals.

Welcome to another weekly Fairy Tail report! I'm Taka, wiki editor who is working on the Fairy Tail project with Daniel and Annabanana. Last week, the episode is a bit of hit or miss with the fans. However, this episode brings back some action and hilarious scenes for this week. Also, I update you guys and gals with a progress report on the wiki projects.

Plot Summary

While Gildartz goes off for a solo mission to investigate the Legion, Lucy and her gang stop by the Heartfilia mansion to look up clues about Jude's Memento. They find a book called Key of the Starry Heavens. Suddenly, they get attacked by Legion Corp's mages: Samuel and Dan Straight.

Can Lucy and her gang fend off Legion Corp's attacks and keep the book away from them?

Verdict

Good

Happy holds lil Natsu

• There are some memorable and hilarious scenes especially when Dan fall heads over heels for Lucy. He is more bold than Hibiki, Juvia, and the other lovestruck characters.
• Cute Noises Make Another Comeback: I call them noises or sound effects. Erza makes that cute "Kya" a second time since her funny scene of falling into Lucy's pitfall. That "Whoa" sound appears when Samuel flips Michelle's skirt.
• Last but the funniest scene, Happy stepping over Natsu who was shrunk by Dan's lance. The way he holds him reminds me of a little boy playing with his action figures.

Bad

• Jackpot is a stupid name for a villain, but I didn't find it funny where his powers relies on a slot machine.

Overall, the episode is great with the second half having the best scenes. Though, the defeat of Fairy Tail can sour some fans due to the past episodes. I'm sure the comedy will cheer them up. The good section is my bizarre section since everything's a bit bizarre.

New Characters

Samuel

Samuel is the new Exceed in the Fairy Tail anime. He acts like a know-it-all person which infuriates Natsu and his teammates. He has this strange ability to predict what Natsu's team does and orders Dan to obey his commands except when Dan falls in love with Lucy.

Dan Straight

Dan Straight is quite the energetic person with a strange name. He hits on Lucy and remarks to Erza that Lucy is way cuter than her. Plus, he is a tough opponent with a shield that reflects both physical and magical attacks and a lance that shrinks things.
