Adaptation of a popular "4-koma" manga about the absurd happenings in the "Daily Lives of High School Boys."
"Daily Lives of Highschool Boys" (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou) is a comedy about boys who go to highschool and the exciting, amusing, or just plain weird things that happen in their everyday lives. Things that include playing with sticks, dreaming about Monster Hunter-like quests, working up the nerve to talk to girls and more. The episodes are broken up into a series of one-shot gags and sketches that have no continuity with each other, with a few exceptions.
| Character Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Tadakuni | The most "normal" boy in the show, so much so that he's been getting less and less screentime despite being the main character. |
| Hidenori Tabata | The boy with the glasses who often gets his friends involved in crazy schemes. Has a tendency to over-exaggerate everything. |
| Yoshitake Tanaka | The blonde-haired boy who often hangs out with Hidenori and Yoshitake. May or may not be the legendary "Rubber Shooter." |
| Motoharu | A scary-looking boy who's actually mild-mannered and a surprisingly good cook. Often teased by his older sister. A member of the Sanada North student council. |
| Toshiyuki Karasawa | Another member of the Sanada North student council who is always seen wearing a hat. Has a scar from a battle with the "Archdemon" many years ago. |
| "The Literary Girl" (Yassan) | A raven-haired girl who often sits by the riverbank, writing her story. Has a crush on Hidenori after he appeared to be like the main character from her story, though Hidenori is scared of her in return. |
| Mei | Tadakuni's little sister who often crushes Tadakuni's friends with her bare hands for their dumb antics around her, especially when they steal her underwear. |
| Yoshitake's Older Sister | No name given. Desperate to get a boyfriend. Often tries to drown her sorrows in beer. |
| Mino | Motoharu's older sister who often bullies him in their sibling relationship. |
| Ringo | The president of Sanada East's student council. Tries to prove that girls are superior to boys, but often ends up fighting with them instead. |
| Habara | The former "Archdemon" of the neighborhood who reformed after a long fight with 10 other kids, though the other boys are too scared to approach her and Toshiyuki still hates her. |
| Yanagin | Habara's best friend who wears glasses and often screams about everything. |
| Ikushima | A friend of Yanagin who often tags along with her and Habara. |
The show began airing in Japan on January 10, 2012. The show was created by Sunrise Inc. and was directed by Shinji Takamatsu.
