Daddy Masterson is a character that holds a unique place in the One Piece series. Though he only appears in in Episode 50 of the anime. He was originally intended to be a part of the canon manga story line.. In the story is was going to explain where the Straw Hat Pirate Usopp got his treasured goggles he wears throughout the series after the Loguetown Arc.
