Cosplay Forum

I'm gonna have to completely agree with Tom on this one.  I'm fairly new to the idea of cosplaying and don't completely understand its motives, so if anyone who does cosplay cares to enlighten an ignorant mind feel free to tell me about it. I will say, after reviewing some of the cosplayer's photos (i.e. the ones of the half-naked hotties (HEY, I'm a single guy, sue me, XD)) I'm very quickly becoming a fan.

Cosplay is cool and all, but still it strikes me as a little weird. The good cosplayers, and I mean like the professional ones are amazing. Then you have the good ones, then there is the bad, and ughh, the ugly...but let's not go there... I still think it's neat and all, but I have to confess they are a bit intimidating. It almost was like they look down on you for some reason or another. I don't really understand it, maybe the conventions I've been to just had a bunch of jerks though.

I think it's alright. I remember seeing some Stormtroopers and a couple guys dressed up as the Ghostbusters at a convention once, and I thought they were cool. I'd consider doing it myself if I was creative and resourceful enough to pull it off.
