The series was interesting enough as a shonen show about undead girls fighting other undead monsters with a dash of conspiracy in the background, but the ending pissed me off as it seemed to be building towards a climax only for the Big Bad and his undead weapon to just teleport away from the fight and left the series with no closure whatsoever. Then the last episode was just a flashback about a side character. The Seven Stars provided one of the more interesting parts of the story, but be prepared for a letdown at the end.

It had a nice twist toward the end, but the ending itself was no ending at all. I think the manga is still going though.

Its a pretty mix show where it has some good things like the story and characters but it is off balance with everything else.

Yup the start it was kinda slow .It does get to the roller coaster ride .Just not at the pace you would think. In some ways as mentioned it reminded me of bleech. Animation an shows visual style is well above average. Its story is just barely above average. for anime.

Tho I think the title is misleading .But as with all books you should not judge by the cover. The same rule i think should apply for anime at the anime. That an 3 episodes trial seems more fair for anime . Found a few shows i ended up liking more that 1st episode some by large margins.

I would still recommend this series tho .Worth a watch for what it is not what it could have been.

I understand what you're saying about tonal shifts. I've been watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and the sudden bursts of cheeky comedy in between serious moments are killing me.

I really liked this, and not for one reason I could articulate extremely well. It wasn't very good in almost any aspect, in some kind of "wow" way, journeyman like sometimes, I guess? It just didn't bother me. Something just clicked. For anything I thought "well that's not perfect", the main character is the most thing I would like changed though.

Funny, the "this is going to be awesome balls to the wall action" was what made me really dislike witchblade. People liked the kid angle, the serious angle, being a mom; me, not knowing the comic but looking it up when witchblade the anime was getting marketed, I was hoping for something crazy. Action, sex, blood, awesome. Main character was a bumbling fool, really didn't care for the family stuff being pushed in it etc.

No fault to anyone that doesn't like this, I could totally see it, I just do for some reason. It is too bad about the title, being pretty awesome for what amounts to very little in the actual show.
