Otakon just issued a couple of new announcements: the first is voice actor Tony Oliver, whose dulcet tones you've heard playing Rick Hunter in Robotech, will appear at the event. You've also heard Oliver's dulcet tones voicing Arsene Lupin III in, of course, Lupin the 3rd (that would, I believe, be the original TV series, plus Lupin the 3rd: The Movie: The Secret of Mamo). Oh, and he's done a lot of Power Ranger voices (take that, Anime Expo!...?).

The convention also announced an event being held by dub studio Bang Zoom!: a series of dubbing workshops which will be hosted by Oliver. The workshop includes a number of “practical dubbing techniques,” presumably ones for the dub actor, although it would be interesting if the panel was focused on fans dubbing their own anime...but no, I'm not sure that's actually what they're going for.

But it sounds like good times. Also worth noting: I've heard that Tony Oliver was working on a Power Rangers documentary called Mighty Morphin' Miracle. I wonder if he still is?
