As the year skips and jumps along (and it does-- good lord, we're already nearing the end of February), convention season starts to roll around. The height of the season is probably roughly May through August, albeit with plenty of stragglers in the months surrounding these (including New York Anime Fest in September).

So since we're moving towards con season, that means we're currently at the beginning of con announcement season. Here's a slew of the latest'n'greatest guests and events at conventions in North America announced within the last few days:

Voice actors/seiyuu are mutual bread'n'butter for cons-- they attract guests to the cons, and the actors can promote their work (both the specific one they're being sent for and their general work). :)

Sadly, I don't think I'll be at any of these-- I'll be at Anime Matsuri in Houston during Sakura, and I'll be at Fanime Con in San Jose during Anime Boston. (I'm hoping to have some serious awesomeness for Fanime!)

I'll be at MomoCon. Looking forward to checking out a free con on a college campus.

I wish I could get to Momocon (and see my niece in Atlanta while I'm there)! Alas, those cross-country trips are a doozie on the ol' wallet. :)

Oh snaps you should come look for me in my Yoko cosplay. Not sure what day I'll be wearing it but that's my set goal for Yoko~

I wish I could go to an East Coast con... only been to West Coast ones. Nothing wrong with them but I just wanna see the differences between them.

So many cons; so little cash. sigh...

I hope Fanime gets some good guests, because I'm slated for Animazement this year again unless Fanime or AB announces better guests. Nobody ever reports on Animazement and their guests :3 Probably a good thing for those who do go XD

I'll be at MomoCon, probably in the Artist Alley the whole time trying to break even, haaaaa.

I wish I could be at Anime Matsuri. I'm really bitter about the fact that their dates are always set when I'm not in town. :< (Also, Miyaviiiii. T_T)

I wish I could go to a con, but I could never stand crowded places.

I never really understood having cosplayers as guests..

I always figure having cosplayers as guests is more to persuade them to do panels and judge contests. Some conventions may need the help of a really well-established cosplayer to do all that for them, but they don't really have any of the level they want within the staff or member circles.
