This is Shinichi Kudo in the form of a little boy. Shinichi was transformed by an experimental drug he was forced to take by a gang of criminals. He is named after the writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He still retains all his memories, intellect, and brilliant detective skills.
Origin
After Shinichi Kudo transforms into a small child, he rushes back to his house to see if his next-door neighbor Professor Agasa can help him turn back to normal. After revealing and proving that he is in fact Shinichi, he is let back inside his house and given an old wardrobe. He then learns that Agasa can't turn Shinichi back to normal unless he has a sample of the drug to make an antidote with. Ran Mouri then comes inside and Shinichi hides behind the desk in the library. Ran talks to the Agasa inside while Shinichi finds a pair of his dad's old glasses. After realizing his dad was blind and hitting his head on the side of the desk, Ran discovers small Shinichi after he has pushed the lenses out of the glasses and put them on his face. She doesn't recognize him and hugs him for being so cute. She then asks him for his name and after looking on two books next to each other on the shelf, decides to call himself Edogawa Conan. Agasa asks Ran if she would take care of him for a while. Conan freaks out and Agasa informs him that Ran's father is a private detective and if Conan could make him more famous, then Kogoro will get more cases involving the Black Organization. Conan agrees and leaves to go live with Ran and his adventures soon begin. Truth
There are only a select group of people who know the true identity of Conan Edogawa. There are his parents Yusaku and Yukiko Kudo, Professor Agasa Heiji Hattori, Ai Haibara, and Eisuke Hondou. These people either found out on accident or Conan willingly revealed his identity to them. Transformations
