A young middle school student is granted the power to transform into "Sailor V" and must protect the public from danger.
Codename: Sailor V stars Minako Aino, a 13-year-old middle school student whom dreams of finding the man of her dreams. One day, she came across a talking white cat who introduced himself as Artemis and gave Minako the power to transform into the guardian of the planet Venus by giving her two magical items: a pen and a compact mirror. With her magical form revealed, she dubs herself as "Sailor V" and vows to protect the city against the forces of evil, including a group called "The Dark Agency".
The manga series originally debuted by Kodansha on "RunRun" magazine in 1991 and was intended to be a one-shot manga up until when it spawned the Sailor Moon manga in 1992. It later got adapted for a North American release by Kondansha Comics USA in 2011 and all the volumes are to be remastered and translated into its original form alongside the Sailor Moon manga re-releases.
The main squeeze of the manga. She is an skilled volleyball player who needs some pointers for finding true love despite believing in it. She has the ability to transform into Sailor V and weilds light-based powers as well as her physical strength.
The talking cat that granted Minako her abilities. He is her guardian and often gives Minako solid advice despite being a critic at times.

leader of the Dark Agency and has an dark affinity for Sailor V. He plans to win her love while plotting to destroy the universe with his minions.
