A woman who has given birth to or raised a child.

Murder

The act of taking another person's life.

Nurses

A Nurse is a regular hospital worker and Doctor's assistant. Assisting in the day to day care of patients, they can be male or female.

Origami

Origami is a traditional Japanese art of folding paper in a precise way in order to mold it into various shapes, such as animals.

Police

The Police are a form of law enforcement officers that work on the local levels. Uniforms are normally in either blue or black.

Prince

A male heir to a royal throne.

Princess

A female heir to a royal throne.

Product Placement

Product Placement is a practice done in shows where a company will pay for a real world product to be displayed prominently, or have a character using.

Protagonist

The main character of a story or plot. Most forms of fiction have the protagonist as a hero but there are rare occasions with an evil or not-so-noble protagonist.

Psychopaths

People who have no conscious or concept or right and wrong (or do but choose wrong on purpose) and draw pleasure from the harming and even killing of others. They are usually portrayed as being completely heartless and beyond redemption of any kind.

Pwnage

Pwnage isn't just losing a fight. These are situations where one opponent significantly outclasses the other to the point of embarrassment.

Rivals are competitor to someone. Unlike an enemy, rivals could have similar goals but disagree on the process.

Secret Identity

A secret identity is an element of fiction wherein a character develops a separate persona, while keeping their true identity hidden. The character also may wear a disguise. A character may have several types of secret identities simultaneously.

Secret Past

A list of people who won't reveal their past even though it might be revealed later. Who knows, it could either be an extrordinary timeframe, an emberassing childhood or an shockingly dark chain of events.

A group of Seven pirate captains that have allied themselves with The World Government.

Shoujo

Literally "girl," this term is used to refer to manga aimed at young to teenage girls.

Shounen Tournament

Also referred to as the "Shounen Competitive" subgenre; the most popular shounen series generally fit into this action-oriented category

Shyness

When one character has trouble expressing themselves and is very reserved. Usually used in Anime as an endearing quality.

Shōnen

Literally means "boy" in Japanese, but is also used to refer to Japan's biggest manga demographic: pre-teen and teenage boys.

Female members of a family that share the same parents.

A person who smokes tobacco.

Speech

Public speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners.

It is not uncommon for anime heroes and villains to strike over the top poses to make a point, usually about how manly or evil they are.

Strong Women

Anime has long been known for having many strong male protagonist and depicting women as being weaker and in need of protection, but there are many female characters out there fighting this stereotype. These are women who possess strength not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well and are often the heroes of a series.

A Student is one who is enrolled or attends classes at a school, college, or university. A popular theme among many manga and animes.

Suicide is the act of taking ones own life through various means.

A Teacher is a type of person who is in charge of educating others in some form of higher learning or skill. The Japanese title is "Sensei".

The Black Knights

The Black Knights is an army of Japanese rebels created by Lelouch Lamperouge under the guise of Zero. The Black Knights were formed under the pretext of Japanese liberation although Lelouch's true motive was the obliteration of Britannia for his Nunnaly, his blind sister.

Tragedy

A story or event centered around human misery. Characters in the story face suffering, dread, and destruction.

Unreal Hair/Eye Color

A popular design choice for characters in anime is to give them natural hair and/or eye colors that do not occur in real nature.
