Been a while since I last put together a video. Have a look at how I put a twist on an infamous scene from the first season of Code Geass.

Hellloooo Vicers! Good to see your smiling and happy Friday faces again for this titillating Dunce Cap episode. Well, not really because that would be weird, but you get the point. I'm here today to provide y'all with my thoughts on one of my favorite anime. This is a recent purchase from Best Buy that I paid less than $7 for because of coupons and gift cards I saved. Anyway, I'll get on with the show by presenting to you, Bandai Entertainment's Anime Legends DVD release of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (season 1/R1)!! All hail the United States of Japan!

WARNING! This video contains explicit language. Also, this video is not edited in any way.

Please feel free to provide suggestions for an anime or manga for me to talk about and I will do my best to oblige. Also, if you are curious about anything discussed in this-or previous-episode(s) don't hesitate to ask me for more information/opinions.

Last episode: Demon King! Demon King! Demon King!

Well, actually I love 18+ anime and manga. But here in Canada we have lots of rules for manga. Basically anything rated 18+ whether due to violence, nudity, or explicit sexual content is 'wrapped in plastic'. The term 'wrapped in plastic' means exactly how it sounds. The book is wrapped up in plastic so little kids don't open it up and read what's inside. Also, this allows store clerks to easily tell if the manga is suitable for the buyer to read. If you look 18+ you're good to go, but otherwise you can't get the manga. This pisses me off. I get it when the manga is yaoi, yuri or hentai because that falls under Canada's pornography laws. But I can go see an 18A movie all by myself, but not purchase a work of art. Furthermore, they don't really read the manga that they're wrapping in plastic, so they have no idea how inappropriate it actually is. I was in the book store and I noticed titles such as Akira, Ghost in The Shell, and a few serious hentai manga were not wrapped in plastic. But titles such as DOGS, Black Lagoon, Deadpool (comic book) and Code Geass were.

Why the hell is Code Geass wrapped up when Akira isn't? It's actually really frustrating. They just assume that the majority of manga is 18+ by the cover, or rating on the back. As well, the fact that it's restricted is really annoying. I may not act like it online, but I am very mature. I'm not going to read DOGS and suddenly decide: "Hay! Let's f*ck sh*t up!" and start shooting people with my gun. There are people my age (16) and younger that actually can handle 18+ material.

Hi Anime Vice! It's Friday! Since this week's blog segment got changed up I thought I would provide you with a different blog supplement to end the week on hopefully a high note. I have 3 poems to show you that I wrote as part of a school assignment. I thought long and hard about how to word these and didn't do too bad on the grade. Enjoy!

Note: For the 'The Power of Geass (Geis)' and 'Harem Boy' poems the first one is the original and the second is a revised version (the ' Desu Nōto' poem is the revised version). The poem style, in order, is pantoum, smaller than a breadbox, and persona.

The Power of Geass

Take this contract, and

Behold it in your eye.

The power of the Kings

Given by evil Witch

Behold it in your eye.

This taboo of Irish lore,

Given by evil Witch

Uphold the contract.

This taboo of Irish lore,

Granting deepest desire

Uphold the contract.

Create the world anew.

Granting deepest desire

The power of the Kings

Create the world anew

Take this contract, and

Make it your Curse

Behold it in your eye.

There is a Wish to fulfill

Given by evil Witch

This taboo of Irish lore,

Paving rivers of blood

Uphold the contract.

The King falls

The King dies before his Pawns.

Paving rivers of blood

Just another conspiracy

Create the world anew

The Power of Geis

Take this contract, and

Take it to your grave.

Given by evil Witch

This taboo of Irish lore

Take it to your grave.

As punishment of death,

This taboo of Irish lore

Uphold the contract.

As punishment of death,

Beware the curse of overlapping

Uphold the contract.

And avoid Macbeth’s fate

Beware the curse of overlapping

Take this contract, and

And avoid Macbeth’s fate

A loophole can also spell demise.

Hero’s fate tied,

This taboo of Irish lore

A type of Achilles’ heel.

Uphold the contract.

This taboo of Irish lore,

Beware the curse of overlapping

Uphold the contract.

Even if one opposes the other

Beware the curse of overlapping

Take this contract, and

Even if one opposes the other

A loophole can also spell demise.

Desu Nōto

The power of Death; of judge, jury, and executioner.

This Note, property of shinigami

Tattered and crisp, the pages fill with names.

Bring Death, for this Note makes it art

Suicide, heart attack, hit by car, or burned

Method of Death chosen by the bearer of a black notebook.

There is no escape, just as mice in a cage or the Holocaust.

Be a person good or evil it matters not

The Desu Nōto accepts lead, dye, or even blood

As long as the rules are abided by.

Nuclear bombs cannot touch this Note’s power; portable and without side effect

With the power of a Death God, one can be worshiped as a God.

Take name and face in hand

As 40 seconds passes to reveal fruition

Beware human as Death’s true owner watches over you.

The perfect crime it can create

Bending to anyone’s hate-filled whim

But 6 can be used at a time in this world

And the Note can be relinquished back

Like a used car, but with a less satisfying ending

Shinigami cometh shinigami go-ugly and bored

Who will hold this power next?

While it can be destroyed there is always another

With the same capabilities as the last

Black and full of empty pages

If the user of this Note is “caught”

Unto Shinigami’s personal Desu Nōto name shall go

And all will fade to Mu.

Harem Boy

Daisuki! Is all I want to hear

My dream girl in front of me,

Stuttering idiotically only to ask for her pen

Lost in those stargazer eyes

Why is it like this?

I cannot have the girl I like

Though like a ladies’ man

I’m surrounded by beauties

Buxom, brainy, quirky

Funny, misunderstood girls.

And me, the average everyday normal guy

Dragged into the hall by jealousy

To, be pounded by every man-hating tsundere

Panties and breasts morning and night

I need an IV for blood loss

For I do not feel the girls’ love

But more, an ache, in my heart

One is all the love I, can take

The rest begone to friend zone.

I want my harem to end

Aishite iru!

What a nightmare that was..

Harem Boy

No one knows what it’s like to be me

Surrounded by buxom girls everyday

But I’ve only eyes for one

Still, I don’t think she even knows my name.

Why is it like this?

As I’m about talk to her

I’m hauled away as if on cue,

To be pounded by every man-hating tsundere

Despite their incessant interruptions,

Those beautiful, brainy, quirky, funny, misunderstood girls

Dressed in short uniform skirts

Have a special place in my heart

And me in their bosoms.

I wake to breasts in the morning,

Sleep comes at night to the sight of panties

I do not love the ladies in my harem

Blinded, I am, by my unreciprocated and untold love

For fear of more blood loss

A decision must be made.

I want my harem to end

…Or do I?

With all the good blogs being posted recently I've felt I should contribute. The trouble with that is I'm behind on my anime news, the entire Fall Season, and when I do a blog I want to have something that will provoke others to think about what I've said whether they are interested or displeased. I thought about this while at work last night (because I have nothing but time on my hands to think) but had to make sure i remembered because a number of ideas have been forgotten since I don't have an easy method of writing them down. So, without further ado, here are some unsolved mysteries of anime that plague my mind.

Note: If you know the answer or the manga solved any stated mystery then please inform me with a comment.

Ergo Proxy

What this one basically comes down to is series is a complete mindfuck. It was an interesting watch but I cannot get myself to go through it again as it is so confusing with a seemingly sped up ending. The mysteries for this show for me are: did Ergo Proxy save the world or reset shit and is it a post-apocalyptic world?

Tenchi Muyo! GXP

This one is probably silly but it's just something I want to know. At the end of show Seina is aboard his ship with an 8 woman crew. Now, he was scheduled to marry 4 of them when the other 4 kidnapped him during the ceremony. The mystery for me: did Seina marry all 8 of them or none at all?

Maburaho

As this is one of my favorite harems I just have to bring this up because it seemed like some closure was going to be made-only to be slapped in the face! Kazuki gets his soul pieced back together only to be separated in like 8 copies of himself. Therefore the mystery is: is that how it all ends or does Kazuki eventually get back to one body?

Afro Samurai

We all know it's better seeing Samual L. Jackson kicking samurai and robot ass (in voice) than getting motherfucking snakes off a motherfucking plane. Now, Afro has been through hell and back and even died for a minute but considering the very end of either the series or the movie ( I can't remember which and don't want to look it up) that has a quick view of Justice (yeah that dude's still alive after being sliced into little piece!) the mystery has to be: will they face off again and when will Afro get a damn vacation?

Black Lagoon

My love for this franchise is well documented on Anime Vice so of course I would have a question or two. Having not seen the second episode of Roberta's Blood Trail yet maybe an answer has been provided that I don't know about. The mysteries for me are: who is Dutch really, have Revy and Rock hooked up, and will there ever be another series full of such badass women (this one is debatable, I know)?

Code Geass

This is my favorite anime and what would a favorite or great anime be without a little unsolved mystery? Perhaps, at least to my knowledge, the mystery I pose here is one of the most heatedly debated ones of all anime. That mystery is: is Lelouch dead?

This one I have to give my thoughts. I say that Lelouch is the cart driver at the very end and my supporting evidence is that the driver has his head down and is only panned over and C.C. is talked to him. This the largest followed theory from what I've heard and read but I've also heard that the creators say that Lelouch is, in fact, dead.

Anime Vice - Knightmare Frame Catalog

Who's Bad? The Guren S.E.I.T.E.N.'s BAD!
Who's Bad? The Guren S.E.I.T.E.N.'s BAD!
It was a couple weeks ago that I announced how I had completed my project to fill out the information on the first season of Code Geass. Well, as of today. I have completed something I have been working on steadily for a few weeks. Anime Vice is now the proud owner of a complete catalog of every Knightmare Frame found in the first two seasons of Code Geass, and I mean EVERY model.

On the profile, I write about the basic history of the Knightmare Frames, I talk about the characters who were the designers and engineers of the KMFs. I also have a segment where I display all the components that can be found in various KMFs, from the Yggdrasil Drive through the Slash Harken and Energy Wings.
Most other websites organize their list of Knightmare Frames by what faction they fight under, which is valid. I took a different perspective. All the ones are basically organized by what generation of development of the nine they fall under. I thought it was better to stage them more by development. In total there are over 35 different models listed on that page. Each one has a picture listen next to it, a link back to the object's personal profile on the site, and a bullet point list of what the specs are on that Frame.
It took a lot of typing and research to get this done. By the time it was over. I earned just over 8,000 points on this profile. Just thinking about that sounds a little insane that I did that much writing. While it still need a small bit of refining in sections and I should do some more proofreading. For all intensive purposes the profile is complete.

Now, if there is something you ever wanted to learn about the Knightmare FramesAnime Vice is the site to check out.

Okay, so I already got my first comment on my last blog entry, and it was awfully enlightening. Yes, I should prolly talk a bit about, you know, anime. This being an anime site and all.

Okay, as people might've guessed from my profile piccy, I'm an avid fan of the Code Geass anime. Both seasons, of course. You can't watch one and not watch the other. They're kinda like Stieg Larsson books that way. While I like the mecha, the fanservice (Hi, Kallen!), the clean and idealized drawing style, and the social interplay between the interesting characters, it's the riveting overarching story with all its twists and foils that utterly chained me down. It's one thing that Lelouch is a brilliant mastermind; it's another that he's able to adapt to most of the utterly devastating situations he's exposed to in his trials. Really, this anime is a must-watch in my opinion.

So, other than that I've been fascinated with Seirei no Moribito. Of course it helps that it's done by the same studio that made GitS SAC (all hail!), but Balsa's personality and combat style simply captured me. I'm not sure if it's because I could identify with her (being a protective soul myself) or I simply liked her ability to apply her hard-earned experience, but I'm certain I liked her combat style because the spear is so rarely the weapon of a main character, and seeing it done so well was just amazing. Well done, Production I.G.

Okay, that was two of my favs. There's plenty more in my list, so I guess they'll provide fodder for further blog entries. Until next time!
