The military is on the lookout for gifted children (with the codename "Clovers") that are able to manipulate technology. A girl named Sū is imprisoned so that she cannot interact with other humans because she may develop feelings and be used as a weapon.
Clover details the story of Kazuhiko, a young but emotionally scarred man who has retired early from the army, and a girl named Su, "cursed to be alone" by the immense potential she wields within her. The two venture forth on a mission to help Su find a place of peace.
