Cleanliness Committee Chief

Overview

The Chief is the head man in charge of the Cleanliness Committee of the Kingdom of Repentance, an organization that uses violence and memory alteration to silence and prevent anyone and anything from damaging the reputation of the planet.  As the leader of this group, he overseas all acts of propaganda and violence committed by the organization.
 

Creation

The Chief was designed and created by Shingo Araki and Shigeru Kogawa during the late 1970s. She appears in the Galaxy Express 999 series, which was created by Leiji Matsumoto, creator of the popular Captain Harlock franchise.

Major Story Arc

The Kingdom of Atonement

When the Conductor has an experience that could ruin the reputation of the Kingdom of Repentance, the Chief issues the command for him to be executed and for Tetsuro and Maetel to have their memories erased.  When Maetel and Tetsuro are able to resist the memory erasing, he orders them to be executed along with one of his operatives who happens to be near them at the moment.  When both of these plans fails, he arrives at the GE999 boarding platform to try and lure Tetsuro and Maetel off of the train so that he can do what he wants with them inside of his jurisdiction.
