Clannad is an anime movie based on the game by Key. This movie is not relevant to the anime but creates an alternative storyline.
Okazaki Tomoya, a third-year delinquent student who doesn't take care of his studies seriously. As he seen to, show up late for class as well as have a few friends. But one day, he meets Nagisa Furukawa, a girl who is alone because she knows that everyone of her friends left to graduate and she was left behind. Tomoya, at first didn't care about this clumsy girl but soon helps her, recreating the drama club.
This iteration of Clannad not only focuses on the original summarize story of Clannad but has certain plot points that its sequel, After Story persists. Few of those plot points is Nagisa and Tomoya getting married as well as giving birth to a child, while it doesn't shown much as After Story, it reveals these aspects shown in that sequel.
