City of HowlsFreeze City. Tsume, the leader of a gang of thieves finds a white wolf lying under a tree. The group reaches the wolf and it awakens and kills two of the gang members. Tsume catches the attention of the white wolf and draws him away from human kind. Momentarily Tsume reveals that he too is a grey wolf. The two argue and get into a brief skirmish, in which results in the smell of their blood awakening Cheza (A young woman who is being studied in a lab).

Later The white wolf is shot and caged by Quent Yaiden in the Freeze City police Station. Quent is questioned extinsevly by Detective Hubb Lebowski about the "dog" he has caged. He explains that he believes the dog is actually a wolf, a species that has been extinct for 200 years. Detective Hubb has a scientist named Cher to look at the dog and she requests it to be brought to her lab.

After the humans leave a brown wolf (later to be revealed as Hige) teases the white wolf, whom replies he just wanted a long rest. The two escape both using human forms and Hige asks the wolf where he is going, in which the white wolf now revealed as Kiba replies, "Paradise."
