The act of intentionally starting a fire with the intent of burning down a building or destroying something such as land or property.

Assassin

A person who was paid to preform the extermination of a specific person.

Baby

A Baby is a newborn child. Babies need constant care and supervisions since they are unable to care for them self at all or talk.

Bath Scene

One of the most common forms of fanservice in all anime. Bath scenes can show bonding between characters, but are more often used as just an excuse to exploit a female character.

Betrayal

Betrayal is the act of treachery or a violation of a trust or allegiance. This can be to one's friends, country, or God.

Big Business

Big Business can be applied to an organization or individual that uses a corporation and/or business tactics to enact their brand of evil/greed, which may or may not actually be illegal.

Birthday

A anniversary of the day on which a person was born (or the celebration of it).

Blind

A handicap where a person has severely poor eyesight. It may range from very poor eyesight in one eye to being unable to see anything with both eyes.

Boxing

Boxing is a sport and form of martial arts, where people use nothing but there fist to fight.

Breaking the 4th Wall

The act of Breaking the 4th Wall is when a character seem to show knowledge that they are in a fictional series. Normally by talking directly to the audience.

Broken Friendship

A Broken Friendship is a dead relationship between two people or more.

Brother and Sister

A male and a female member of a family that share the same parents.

Butt Punch

A concept where a female character literally uses there Butt to punch someone or something.

Cat

Feline animal with four legs and says "meow." Many are found hanging around animes and mangas.

Christmas

Christmas is a holiday that is celebrated on December the 25th where people often exchange presents.

Coach

The leader and trainer of a sports team. Very important rolls in Sports Series.

Code of Honor

Many characters in anime/manga live by a personal or structured code of honor.

Concert

A live performance or show were musicians perform before a live audience.

Corrupt Leaders

Power corrupts. Bureaucratic power (especially tied to other powers) is no exception.

Coward

Often used as a form of comic relief in anime, cowards run away to fight another day. This doesn't mean they won't stand up for what's right, they'll just do it with trembling knees.

Crazy

Characters with serious long mental unstabilities. They're sometimes simply weird but recently they're portrayed as downright homicidiacs. Not to be confused with the Mentally Unstable where the character fights against it and usually wins.

Cross-Dressing

The act of wearing clothes commonly associated with the opposite gender.

Crying

What someone does when upset/sad. Sometimes people can also cry from sheer joy.

Dancer

A dancer moves with the flow and the beat of music.

One who disobeys or breaks rules or laws, often used to describe younger individuals such as high schoolers who cause trouble.

Detective

A Detective is one who works to solve crimes and mysteries of the world using not brawn, but their minds. These can be part of law enforcement or freelance.

Dog

Canine animal with four legs that is seen as a pet.

Dojikko

In anime, a cute, clumsy girl. Her klutziness usually hurts other people more than herself.

Dreams and Nightmares

The imaginary events that goes on in your head when you are asleep. In some anime's they can bring important messages or to haunt a person.

Drug Dealer

Someone who sells illegal drugs for profit

Duel

Prearranged fight with two people. It is used in order to settle a quarrel over a point of honor.

Eating

Perhaps the greatest past-time in Anime, eating is often done in more lighthearted moments as a source of humor or as a way of showing togetherness with characters, usually involving characters who can eat insane amounts of food and not gain an ounce.

Engagement

An engagement is a promise to marriage.

Esper

An esper (or ESP-er) is someone with psychic abilities. The concept is frequently used in a variety of anime series.

Exaggerated Emotional Iconography

Common visual conventions seen in manga and anime to convey emotions, often for comical effect.

Explosion

Explosions are featured in a wide array of anime/manga, created from various weapons/attacks.

Face Between Breasts

When a character has had their face put in the middle of a girls breasts. Though most of the time it may be on accident. Other times it shows sexual relationship between a man and a woman.

Facefault

When people are surprised/shocked because of someone's stupidity.

Fan Service

Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual.

Father

Fatherhood as a concept. A man who has conceived or raised a child.

Femme Fatale

A woman who is considered to be dangerously seductive.

First Kiss

The act of someone giving or receiving their first kiss, or a particular couple kissing for the first time.

Flashback

Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback.
