An anime adaption of a Japanese light novel series by Shūsuke Amagi, with illustrations by Miyū. The anime adaption was directed by Itsuro Kawasaki and written by Mamiiko Ikeda and released by Studio Zecs begining on January 11, 2009 and ran until June 20, 2009.
Follows the fortunes of Layfon Alseif, a former elite fighter, who having been exiled from his home Lance Shelled Grendan, seeks a new life in the University city Zuellni.
Upon entering the general arts section and intending to start afresh away from the military arts and his mysterious past, he exposes his strength on the first day in an attempt to save another student, causing him to come to the attention of Nina Antalk the leader of 17th Platoon in the military arts section, and seemingly the student council president, leader of Zuellni.
Layfon finds himself manipulated into changing to the military arts section by the student council president Karian Loss who is after using Layfon to protect Zuellni. And dragged specifically into 17th platoon by Nina. With a dark past catching up to him and everybody wanting a piece of him, will layfon survive Zuellni or will Zuellni survive him.
