Chikage and her little sister Miyuki

Chikage Hizaki is one among many who were orphaned after the terrorist attack in Bioka City. Her parents were among the doctors killed at the International Medical Conference and had burned alive. She was orphaned with her little sister, Miyuki Hizaki. They lived with relative for some time, but never really felt accepted. She hated herself for not being able to care for her Miyuki. That all changed after they were both taken in by Makoto Ogawa. He taught them both about life, and showed her how she could protect her sister. They were able to leave their family behind and live on their own. It wasn't always easy but they were happy.

Chikage failed to save Miyuki from their burning apartment

One evening, Chikage returned home to find their apartment burning and rushed in without thinking when she learned her sister was still inside. She was trapped in the fire when burning rubble fell on her, and she never reached Miyuki. When she awoke, she had been rescued by the fire department but couldn't save her sister was dead. The injuries she suffered left a large car on her right shoulder and back that she sees every day in the mirror. It's a constant reminder that she needed to become stronger.

Creation

Triage X Vol 2 JPN (Sep 2010)

Chikage Hizaki is an antagonist character in the Triage X series that was created by Shoji Sato. It began serialization as a bi-monthly series in Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age in 2009.

Her first appearance was in Triage X Volume 2 CH. 10 "CASE: 3 Midnight Guerrilla II - Overheat".

Though Chikage was first introduced in Volume 2, her name was never revealed until Volume 3, CH. 11 "Midnight Guerrilla III - Clash of Killers".

Chikage Hizaki evades attack

Chikage had been taking on several missions in Tobioka and her arsons were catching the attention of the police and others. On one mission she was to assassinate the leader of the Kabuto Syndicate, Yusuke Magari. He was guilt of many crimes and was experimenting on people to test the effects of a new designer drug. She burned his men alive and told him the worse a human is the faster they burn. That the flames that would consume him were fueled malice of those he had wronged in the past. She burned a picture of him and tossed it into the hot tub she already laced with fuel. It was engulfed in flame, and she told him to burn to ashes before pulling out her hand gun and blowing a hole in his head.

She instantly felt a presence of someone and ducked a strong kick from behind. I was a young white haired girl, and she got a punch in on her masked face. After getting her balance back, she easily evaded her next strike and got behind her. The girl demanded to know if she was the one who started the fires, but Chikage refused to answer. When the white-haired girl rushed, she pulled out her XM25 launcher and fired. She was only saved by her male ally in body armor. She escaped after they were distracted by the wall of fire.

Chikage would meet these same two on her next mission to kill two of the Kabuto's officers, Yukio Ohmichi and Masa'aki Oki. Though by the time she arrived she didn't know her targets were already dead inside. Killed by the two she earlier escaped from. She fired at them with her launcher but didn't hit. She went to leave but the girl fired over her head and into the glass panel. She mocked Chikage for beating her to the target and asked how it felt. She asked why she wasn't shooting her already, but the girl was confused. She pulled her sidearm to fire but the voice of another masked girl to the left, complimenting her weapons, caught her attention. When their male partner bust through the wall she had already jumped out the window behind her.

She later reported the mission's status to Dr. Inunaki by payphone. She was then approached by some local punks who were surprised that she didn't have a cell phone. She could already hear their whispering that they intended to attack her. She told them her name and went with them out to the riverbank. There she set them ablaze while they were still alive. She went home, because tomorrow she started her first day at Mochizuki High School.

On her first day of school she was already being harassed by some girls who were accusing her of lying about not having a cell. She was saved from this annoyance when she noticed a girl in the distance waving. The bullies looked to what was drawing her attention and walked away when they noticed it was an upperclassmen, Mikoto Kiba. She thanked Mikoto and introduced herself. She said that she was drawn by her eyes, and she left the roof.

She set another fire that night and saved a cat who was about to be run over my a motorcyclist. The driver braked only barely in time to stop. After being cursed at, the driver finally noticed her face. It was Mikoto. They went to the nearby park to sit. When asked about the cat. She answered that animals were the most innocent of creatures that needed to be protected. Chikage then asked her about the bike, and she answered that the bike belonged to her brother that died five years ago. She was surprised to be told such a personal story instead of making something up. She responded that she doesn't lie to her friends. She was impressed and leaned into her, tell her she's beautiful. She explained that she also lost a loved one. She asked to hear about her bother, and Mikoto told her the story of Yuki Kiba. She was pleased she felt so open with her. After listening adoringly, Mikoto asked about who she lost. She leaned slowly in even closer and asked if she wanted to learn more about her. Chikage quickly began pulling open her blouse in public. It was to show her the burn scars she suffered. She placed her hand on the mark and winced. Even to this day is still burns. She told her about how she lost her parents and fails to save her sister. Her sorrow was broken when she felt Mikoto's tears fall on her hand. When she asked why, Mikoto said that she wasn't as strong as her. Chikage said they were very much alike since they both suffered lass. She leaned in more and more, she told her she could call her Chikage, and asked if she's like to learn even more about her. Nervously, Mikoto jumped to her feet and nervously announced she had to leave. Chikage was frustrated but closed her blouse. She said they would be best friends and that she'd see her tomorrow at school.

The next day at school, Chikage was walking with Mikoto. A friend tried to wave to her but for some reason Mikoto ignored him to agree to go out with her after school. Though she denied knowing the boy, she could tell he was getting the cold deliberate cold shoulder treatment. Chikage then pressed her body into Mikoto and asked if she could teach her something after school. Despite the suggestive tone, it was actually for tutoring for her classes. They finished by evening, and Mikoto asked her why she didn't just straight out say it was for school lessons. Chikage shot back asking if her friend was hoping for something else. She sadly didn't get answer because they both heard a woman screaming.

Mikoto and Chikage strike together

The panicked scream were coming from a member of their school, Yuu Momokino. She was being chased by a crazed delinquent that was trying to rape her. Chikage swept at his legs, and Mikoto nailed him on the face in mid air. She was surprised how well they work together. While they listened to Yuu, Hachisuka stood up unharmed and ran off laughing hysterically. Mikoto picked up his phone and on it was a picture of a girl Momokino identified as Saki Okada and a ransom note that threatened to chop her apart was on the phone. She became more interested when she learned that Hachisuka had ranted earlier about the Kabuto Syndicate. Chikage excused herself and left Yuu to Mitoko.

Weapons

Chikage Hizaki's Taurus Model 4510

As an arsonist, Chikage specializes in the use of fire-based weapons. She is also a talented hand to hand combatant to the degree of even besting Mikoto Kiba. Her side arm is the Taurus Model 4510 which is also known as "The Judge". Her rifle is a style of grenade launcher called the XM25 CDTE (Counter Defilade Target Engagement System) , also known as the "Punisher". She doesn't use a sight on the XM25, and loads incendiary rounds in both her weapons.

• Taurus Model 4510 .45/.410: The Judge was developed by the by Taurus International company, which is part of the Brazilian Forjas Taurus S/A. It has a three inch barrel and a grip made from rubber. It can load both magnum and shotgun style rounds and a maximum capacity of 5 rounds.
• XM25 Launcher: The Punisher was developed by Heckler & Koch. It has a length of 737 mm and weight of 6.35 kg when empty. I can load a wide variety of rounds from thermal, non-lethal, high explosive, and armor piercing. It can be effective from a distance of 500-700m and a maximum range of 1,000m.
