Troubled tales of cat antics, with character designs that resemble the insipid treacle of Hello Kitty, but with far more menacing undertones. Based on the manga written by Hajime Yamano and drawn by his wife "Nekojiru," the series aired in small segments as part of the Bokusho Mondai Boss Chara Ou TV series, but was considered too hard-hitting even for late-night TV, though it was brought back to video following Nekojiru's suicide in 2000. If anything, this makes the video release, Nekojiru (2001), even more disturbing, since the story features a brother cat, Nyaata, who fights to stop Death from taking away his sister Nyaako, only for the quarreling boys to tear her in half. Only the later video was released in the U.S.
