Arashiyama finds that her school's math teacher has returned to the Seaside Cafe. At first she thinks it is because he is in love with her, but he only wants her help solving an odd problem: His grandfather made six self-portraits, and gifted them to three of his family members when he died, including the teacher himself. However, the two paintings he possesses, one looks like a normal portrait and the other has four eyes. Still, Arashiyama takes on the challenge to find the answer to this strange puzzle.
Arashiyama is told to get onions and carrots for curry and to not screw up like last time. On her way back, she meets an odd little boy who is crying out for "Pearl." It turns out to be the name of a cat stuck in an alley. By accident, Arashiyama manages to get the cat out of the alley with one of her onions, but the "cat boy" disappears. The next day at school, Arashiyama discovers the "cat boy" was actually a tomboy-ish girl who goes to her school and runs the table tennis club.
