Bad Ass Fight Scene

A fight scene or epic battle that stands above the norm of what the series offers and goes down in history as one of the best combat encounters in the series. The perfect combination of epicness and animation.

Bathing Scene

Bathing Scenes, while occasionally meaningful to plot or character development, are generally excuses for fan service.

Clothing Damage

When a character's clothes become torn from an attack, such as an explosion or energy blast.

Constructicons

A group of Decepticons (formerly Autobots) that are able to disguise themselves as Construction Vehicles. Six of them have the ability to merge together to make Devastator.

Crazy Anime Hair

Huge spikes, multiple colors, gravity-defying ponytails... and it's probably all natural somehow too.

Cyborgs

A fictional being that is part organic and part machine.

Dogs

Canine animal with four legs that is seen as a pet.

Drama

Drama is a concept used in story telling to invoke an emotional reaction from the audience by using serious themes; such as tragedy, suspense, and death.

Explosion

Explosions are featured in a wide array of anime/manga, created from various weapons/attacks.

Fan Service

Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual.

Fighters

The character knows well how to defend him or herself.

Flashback

Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback.

Humans

Humans are typically depicted as the dominant species of the planet Earth, and sometimes of other planets. Humans often mirror their real life counterparts in terms of abilities and intellect, while other times they can achieve superhuman feats.

Immortality

The ability to live beyond a regular human's lifespan.

Pets

Something that serves as a pet or behaves in the manner of one.

Post-Apocalypse

The world after the Big One (nuclear war, intergalactic invasion, super disease). Life sucks after the Apocalypse.

Protagonist

The main character of a story or plot. Most forms of fiction have the protagonist as a hero but there are rare occasions with an evil or not-so-noble protagonist.

Robot

An electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer or electronic programming, and is thus able to do tasks on its own.

Robot Girl

Mechanical or electronic automatons that have identifiable female characteristics. They may or may not behave with human-like emotion.

Science Fiction And Robots

Seen in many animes and mangas.

Seinen

Traditionally aimed at an older audience than shounen, seinen manga are typically much more realistic and mature than their shounen counterparts, but also tend to contain more explicit material.

Sisters

Female members of a family that share the same parents.

Super Robot

Super Robots are mecha with super strength, rocket punch attacks and piloted by hotblooded heroes.

Unreal Hair/Eye Color

A popular design choice for characters in anime is to give them natural hair and/or eye colors that do not occur in real nature.
