Having seen the series front to back I must say the re-imagining is quite good. The world is bleak as all hell. The animation is simple yet elegant. This does not harken back to the robot hunter of old but dives into it's own new directions while still questioning what it means to be alive. You guys definitely need to watch.
Not sure about the dub but it's a beautiful freaking series. Went into it knowing basically no more than "Guy kills robots, has a dog, is a cyborg I guess". I also remember promising myself to get the BRs of this, it has desktop-background fodder every other frame.
