Akira Kogane was a human captured into slavery by the Gairan Empire and forced to fight for the amusement of the Gairans, after surviving a battle with the Deathblack Beastmen. He and 4 other survivors managed to escape aboard a stolen slave ship and made their way to a planet ruled by the lovely Princess Fara, there they found the robot Lions that formed the legendary GoLion.

Voltron

Keith, along with Lance, Sven, Pidge, and Hunk were sent to Planet Arus to recover Voltron by the Galaxy Alliance. While en route to Arus, they were captured by the Drule and were to be turned into Robeasts, but the group escaped and returned to Arus where they meet Princess Allura and Coran, Keith becoming the leader of the Voltron Force and pilot of the Black Lion.
