Captain Harlock

Captain Harlock is a space pirate, commander of the space pirate ship/battleship/frigate (depending on the show) Arcadia. With his friend Tochiro Oyama (who may or may not be dead, depending on the show), first mate Yattaran and second mate Kei Yuki (who is present if Tochiro is dead) they go forth to protect Earth from Alien invaders and free it from the oppressive government (which may or may not also be alien invaders, depending on the show).

Little more can be said than that, as the continuity is reset almost every single series that Harlock appears in, with the only two series and films that are in continuity with each other are Arcadia of my Youth and Captain Harlock SSX.
