Artist Daisuke Aso is suffering from a creative block, while his childhood friend Amane tries to find ways of encouraging him to draw again. Amane, of course, secretly harbors feelings for Daisuke, and feels threatened by a series of would-be competitors-it wouldn't be a computer dating simulation game adapted into an anime unless a whole gang of girls started chasing after the leading man for no apparent reason. What distinguishes this anime from the many, many similar shows available is the peculiar execution of its sex scenes-it has them, which is weird enough for something that starts off with the gentle tones of Love Hina, but they are all presented in a rather coy and soft-core manner like the sanitized version of End of Summer. A TV series, Canvas 2: Niji-iro no Sketch (Rainbow-colored Sketch), followed in Fall 2005. N
