Originally, Butsu Zone is a one shot story written by Hiroyuki Takei that was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Summer Special of 1996. Due to its success, the one shot manga became a serialized run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine during March 1997 to August 1997 with a total of 19 chapters. Shueisha also publishes the series in three tankobon volumes with a Yomikiri (One shot story) in each in them in July 4, 1997 and ended in December 4, 1997.
