Buggy The Clown

Origin

The eccentric, quirky leader of the Buggy Pirates, Buggy the Clown is one of the first enemies that the fearless Monkey D. Luffy encounters and defeats after they encounter each other in the midst of Buggy's plot to loot Orange Town of it's valuables.

Creation.

Buggy the Clown was originally created by Eiichiro Oda for use within the One Piece manga, and it is not fully known as to what inspired his creation. Buggy the Clown first appears in both One Piece: Volume Two and in One Piece #4.

Orange Town Arc

Little Buggy Arc

In this short story arc, the Buggy Pirates, now without their fearless captain, get into some sticky situations at sea as what remains of Captain Buggy's body tries to survive in a hostile world while incapacitated. Eventually, the Buggy Pirates and Buggy the Clown are brought back together after a series of short mis-adventures, and Buggy is reunited with his missing body parts.

Loguetown Arc

Seeking revenge upon the StrawHat Pirates and their captain Monkey D. Luffy, Buggy the Clown and his crew storm the city of Loguetown and capture their target in order to enact Buggy's revenge. While his crew provides protection down below, Buggy and Luffy appear on top of the same execution platform in the city square where the infamous Gol D. Roger was executed. Planning to decapitate his enemy with one fell swoop of his sword, Buggy goes to deliver the final blow, but is unfortunately struck by lightning as a terrible thunderstorm rolls into town. While Buggy is incapacitated by the lighting and collapse of the execution platform, his crew fights with the StrawHat Pirates in the city square, but both sides flee when the Captain Smoker and the Marines move in to capture them.
