As Michiko Malandro escapes with Hana on her motorbike, the past begins to catch up with her. This episode begins in the form of a flashback, where police sergeant and childhood friend Atsuko Jackson is seen taking Michiko into custody several years ago for some unrevealed crime. While in prison, Michiko glimpses at a TV showing a crashed bus and the possibility that her lover, Hiroshi Morenos, is dead.
Back in the present, Michiko believes that Hana (now called "Hatchin") might be a symbol that Hiroshi (Hatchin's supposed real father) is still alive, as she bares a striking resemblance to him. Also, Hatchin is 10 years old, and the bus accident happened less than 11 years ago, raising the possibility that Hiroshi didn't die in the accident.
Later, Atsuko leads a team of police officers into the city to recapture Michiko, taking Hatchin's abusive foster father Pedro along with them. While Michiko tries to escape the police, Pedro tries to shoot Hatchin, thinking he can blame it on Michiko and collect the insurance money. However, Michiko rescues Hatchin, and the two of them escape the city on her motorbike.
