Broly

Broly is known as the Legendary Super Saiyan.

Broly is The Legendary Super Saiyan born on planet Vegeta, genetically selected to be the most powerful warrior in the galaxy. Born with a power level of 10,000 at birth, even then he had power greater than most elite Saiyan warriors.
Broly's incubator was next to Goku's and Goku's constant crying did not allow Broly to develop mental stability, and as an adult had poor mental development. King Vegeta feared that Broly would become too powerful and ordered his servants to kill Broly. Even though Broly's father Paragus protested, King Vegeta's mind was not changed. A Saiyan soldier was told to kill Broly and so the soldier stabbed Broly near his stomach area and he, along with his father, were thrown out of Planet Vegeta and left to rot. But, when Planet Vegeta was being destroyed by Frieza, Broly's power allowed him to return to life along with his father and Broly created a force field around them to protect them from the explosion caused by Frieza. As a baby, Broly travelled the Universe with his father growing even more powerful and unstable. Broly reached the Super Saiyan level as mere child and even scarred his father by hitting him in the eye which left a permanent scar on Paragus's face. Broly eventually becomes too powerful that his father ordered an alien scientist create a special control device to stabilize and calm Broly. After Paragus lures Vegeta, Goku and their companions to another planet, Broly remembers Goku and immediatley goes into a rage shouting "Kakarot!", while going after Goku, he transforms into the true form of the Legendary Super Saiyan.
The Legendary Super Saiyan
After transforming into The Legendary Super Saiyan, Vegeta is struck with fear and loses the will to fight for he believed Broly is unstoppable, Broly fights Goku, Gohan and Trunks and completely brutalizes them and beats them to a near death point. Then he decides to end it by blasting Gohan, but his energy ball was countered by Piccolo who exclaimed, "Do you always pick on the children first?" Before fighting Goku and his friends, Broly displayed immense power by destroying a planet with an energy ball the size of his fist, though the size of the planet was never confirmed. After Piccolo arrived he gave Goku and the rest senzu beans which healed them and increased their power level and again they began to fight Broly. But Broly still remained too powerful for them and continued to easily beat Goku and the rest, Broly demonstrated great speed by dodging the combined attacks of Goku and Piccolo. When Piccolo was knocked away and encountered Vegeta who watched the battle in fear of dying, Piccolo proceeded by calling Vegeta a coward and told him to stand clear of the true warriors. Broly defeated Gohan and Piccolo, and Vegeta finally found the pride to fight but was defeated along with Trunks. After seemingly defeating most of the Z Warriors, Broly's father Paragus attempted to escape the planet on a ship for a comet was about to destroy the planet in a few hours, but Broly rushed to the scene and crushed his father to death and then said, "Hmph, did he actually think I would die just because this planet will be destroyed." After this Goku was the only one left able to fight. Broly proceeded by brutalizing Goku and he learned that the only way to beat Broly would be to gather the power of his friends. All of Goku's companions gave him power except Vegeta, who was too proud to lend power but eventually did, and Goku was able to defeat Broly by concentrating all of the power given to him in one punch. He then punched Broly in the area where he was stabbed when he was a baby which had seemingly caused his death.

Goku and his friends returned to Earth but before the planet could be destroyed Broly escaped in a ship and landed on Earth, but was horribly injured to a near death point. Broly was then trapped in the ice of the frozen north until Goten's cries reminded him of Goku's cries which causes him to wake up and break free of the ice. Broly beat Goten and Kid Trunks and was later beating Adult Gohan who had arrived on the scene to help. But then Goten used the Dragonballs to wish Goku back for a period of time, and together Goku, Gohan, and Goten fired a powerful Kamehameha wave at Broly which ultimately killed him. Afterwards, Broly's blood samples made their way into the hand of an industrialist who created clone warriors. Broly's clone eventually awakens but gets covered with bio-liquid transforming him into the deformed Bio-Broly. But in this state Broly lost a great deal of his power, and he is then killed by Goten, Kid Trunks, and Krillin after seawater solidifies his body.

Powers
Power: Broly's power level is by far the most frightening of all in Dragon Ball Z as the day he was born he was stated to have a power level at 10,000 which is roughly the power level that adult Saiyan elite warriors possess and was the final power level that Bardock (Goku's father) and King Vegeta had during their last hours. Broly's power was great enough for him to bring himself back to life after he was killed as an infant and he also used his power to bring his father back to life and created a force field around himself and his father to protect them from Planet Vegeta's explosion. What is even more phenomenal is that Broly is the only character in Dragon Ball Z to ever show enough power to destroy entire galaxies. His powers include:

Superhuman Strength: Broly's Saiyan physiology grant him vast amounts of superhuman strength however being that he is The Legendary Super Saiyan his strength is essentially phenomenal and the greatest of all Saiyans. In his base form Broly has not shown much power or any power at all for that matter and is considered to be weak whilst in his normal base form however his strength is incredible. Even when Paragus' device attached to Broly's forehead was restraining his power he was able to transform into some Restrained Super Saiyan form with blue-purple hair and a dark skin tone and even his restrained power was enough to easily brush off Super Vegeta's Big Bang Attack without any visible physical effort however his physical strength increases even more so when he is fully able to transform into his normal Super Saiyan form which increases his power and speed phenomenally as he was able to dominate a struggling Gohan, Super Saiyan Trunks and Super Saiyan Goten and it should be noted that both Super Saiyan Trunks and Super Saiyan Goten are more powerful than Frieza using 100% of his power, in his normal Super Saiyan form he was able to beat Videl to a near-death point with less than 3 blows and it should be noted that Super Saiyan Broly is much more powerful than the regular Super Saiyan even a trained Super Saiyan. Broly's strength is at its greatest when he is in his Legendary Super Saiyan form which greatly increases his power to unbelievably limitless levels as his physical strength was enough for him easily overpower Piccolo (More powerful than Android 17), Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku (Equal to Perfect Cell in terms of power), Full Powered Super Saiyan Teen Gohan (Equal to Perfect Cell in terms of power), Super Vegeta (Physically stronger but slower than Perfect Cell) and Super Saiyan 2nd Grade Trunks (Vastly physically stronger than Perfect Cell but too slow) simultaneously usng physical strength alone and did not use his speed to his advantage. Broly's strength is so great that he was able to effortlessly smash and shatter mountains with his fists as he punched Goku through several mountains and rock formations. Legendary Super Saiyan Broly was even able to easily physically dominate adult Super Saiyan 2 Gohan without effort beating him to the point where Gohan reverted to his normal base form. Broly's physical strength allows him to lift far in the excess of 100 tons with no known upper limit. Broly's power is undetermined however his several feats of power make him comparable to a Super Saiyan3. Even Bio-Broly a weaker clone of Broly was physically strong enough to dominate Super Saiyan Goten, Super Saiyan Trunks, Krillin and Android 18 (Who is weaker than the average Super Saiyan). Broly also has large amounts of leg strength as he is shown leaping to great heights without exerting himself physically.

Superhuman Speed: Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan physiology supplies him with great amounts of superhuman speed to his advantage. Broly moves and reacts at superhuman speeds as even the combined speed of Piccolo and Goku's punches and kicks were to slow for Broly as he effortlessly dodged Piccolo and Goku's punches simultaneously with his eyes closed simply to prove his dominance and superiority over them. Broly has been dodging lightning fast attacks and attacks that can go unseen by the human eyes. It is unknown whether how fast Broly is however it can be taken as a fact that Broly moves and flies faster than the speed of sound which is roughly 770 miles per hour considering that he was able to travel from galaxy to galaxy within days or so and it takes light that moves 186,000 miles per second thousands of years to reach the nearest galaxy while Broly reached the nearest galaxy in days however in the Dragon Ball Z Universe the laws of physics are different and sometimes do not even apply and the distance between galaxies is not known so it cannot be assumed that Broly travels that fast however it can be said that Broly flies far in the excess of the speed of sound.

Superhuman Durability: Broly's body grants him unparalleled superhuman durability. Broly's body is composed of super-dense tissue that enables him to withstand a lot of damage. As an infant Broly was able to withstand the explosion of planets being destroyed and several other events. As an adult Broly's durability grew to truly frightening proportions as even when his power was being restrained by Paragus' device he was able to withstand Super Vegeta's Big Bang Attack without even fazing or sustaining any physical damage as he simply brushed aside the attack, when Broly unlocked his true form when he transformed into The Legendary Super Saiyan his power was through the roof as he was able to withstand a full power Kamehameha Wave from Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku at blank point range without even fazing or sustaining any physical damage and he simply smiled at the attack and this same Kamehameha Wave is the same attack that was able to knock Perfect Cell several feet away and down however it completely unaffected Broly, Broly was also able to withstand a combined energy blast from Super Saiyan 2nd Grade Trunks and Full Powered Super Saiyan Gohan without sustaining any physical damage, he brushed off a powerful Buster Cannon from Super Saiyan 2nd Grade Trunks without sustaining any damage, he did not even feel a powerful knee to his chin by Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku and it went unnoticed to him, he withstood a full blunt force punch by Super Vegeta without sustaining any visible physical damage and he withstood several powerful ki energy blast from Super Vegeta as they simply unaffected him. Broly is virtually invulnerable to physical damage however there have been instances in which he has suffered severe injuries such as the time when Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku (absorbed The Z Fighters power including Vegeta etc.) punched Broly's weak point in his abdomen the area where he was stabbed as a baby he was defeated when he was struck with the blow however Broly remains one of the most durable characters to ever be shown in the Dragon Ball Universe. Broly has also noted that Paragus was fool believing that he would be die simply because a comet was going to collide with the planet he was on hinting that he has survived much more than that and Broly has survived attacks that could potentially destroy planets.

Energy Manipulation: Like all Saiyans, Broly is able to manipulate energy and it should be noted that Broly cannot manipulate ki energy but does possess ki energy because in the Dragon Ball Universe ki is the lifeforce (a reference to qi in Chinese culture). Broly is able to manipulate energy for various purposes such as energy blasts, energy shields, energy balls, energy bolts, scattered arrays of energy balls etc. Broly's energy blasts are abnormally powerful as a single energy ball the size of his palm was able to knock Krillin to a near-death point and the impact left him too physically hurt to even move. Broly has launched energy balls of ridiculous power as he effortlessly destroyed a planet with an energy ball the size of his palm with ease and he did it just in vain to see the reaction of the aliens who lived in the now destroyed planet. Broly's energy power is ridiculously immense as in the beginning of Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan he is shown destroying an entire galaxy with a single energy ball or energy blast and in Broly: Second Coming he was overpowering a combined family Kamehameha Wave from Super Saiyan 2 Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and Super Saiyan Goten and with his most powerful attack a powerful energy ball with flashing green light and he would have defeated them if not for Trunks' interference as he created a barrier between Broly and his attack leaving Broly unable to launch more energy into his attack. Broly has also been seen creating very hard and strong energy shields that were able to withstand lava and magma and Broly's energy shields have been shown to be strong enough to withstand the explosion of entire planets. Broly is also able to channel the energy in his environment through his body to enhance his physical power and can also concentrate the energy into single areas of the body such as his fists to deliver powerful punches and strikes called "Energy-Enhanced Strikes" however it should be noted that Broly does not manipulate ki energy as he does not even know of its existence and Broly manipulates the ambient energy in The Universe or in his environment. An interesting fact is that Broly's energy is green-colored, Broly is also able to gather the ambient energy in his environment and use it to increase his power as a green flame-like aura of bright energy forms around him and begins to shift as he continues to gather more energy increasing his power even further. Broly is able to fire energy blasts and such from virtually every part of his body including palms, mouth etc. Broly's energy power is so great that he can destroy entire galaxies with single energy attacks and Broly has also been shown launching an energy ball that then splits into a scattered array of energy bolts that delivers immense concussive force. Broly has complete mastery over energy manipulation.

Flight: Broly like all Saiyans has the natural physiological ability of flight. Broly is able to fly at incredible speeds in the excess of the speed of sound and he also has complete control over his power of flight as he is able to easily hover, levitate and fight while flying sustaining balance and perfect coordination as well. Broly is able to fly in high intense and harsh environments such as high pressure atmospheres, zones with harsh temperatures and even space.

Self Sustenance: It seems like Broly does not require to breathe air as he is seen in several scenes during his first appearance in Broly: Legendary Super Saiyan flying in space or standing on floating rocks in space showing no sign of disturbance due to lack of oxygen and it is well noted that Broly is one of the few characters in Dragon Ball Z that do not require to breathe air and do not oxygen at all and can survive perfectly in space for an undefined amount of time. It is unknown if Broly does not require food and water.

Superhuman Stamina: Broly's superhuman physiology grants him a body that produces no fatigue poisons whatsoever. Throughout all of his appearances Broly has never been shown to tire and has never shown any sign of exhaustion. Broly is essentially virtually inexhaustible and tireless as his body does not produce fatigue toxins and he can exert himself completely in intense physical activity for an undefined period of time without his body producing any fatigue toxins or poisons.

Superhuman Agility: Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan physiology grant him superhuman agility, bodily coordination and balance. Broly has shown great fighting agility being able to leap athletically high distances. Broly possesses superhuman balance and bodily coordination as he was seen standing on a ridiculously steep pole at over 50 feet high dodging the combined attacks of Piccolo and Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku with his eyes closed.

Unarmed Combat: It cannot be said that Broly is a master in unarmed combat because he has never displayed mastery in any style or field of martial arts however Broly's fighting style is mostly based on grappling and wrestling so it can be assumed that during his travels to alien worlds he mastered fighting styles strikingly similar to wrestling and grappling. It is highly unlikely that Paragus taught Broly any Saiyan martial arts because Paragus himself was a low class warrior with no battle experience and could not have taught Broly anything because he himself knows nothing.

Personality

Broly's personality is similar to that of a psychopath, as he generally exhibits tremendously uncontrollable rage, and is uplifted by the very idea of bringing destruction and inevitably crushing his enemies. He loves nothing more than to destroy things, as shown by his wanton destruction of planets for little more than intimidation. Broly also has a tendency to toy with his victims, as evidenced by his statement that, "If you'd just let me kill you all before, you wouldn't be dealing with this pain now," Broly enjoys playing with his feeble foes with sadistic sarcasm, often teasing his opponents with a plethora of "free punches". Broly himself rarely has anything to fear from any opponent he faces, which may have contributed to this. It is implied that Broly might have grown insane from living with the pain and fear endured by the father and son for so long.

Transformations:

Restrained Super Saiyan
This is Broly's Restrained Super Saiyan form when Paragus's device is still restraining his power. This form is much more powerful than a normal Super Saiyan form as even Super Saiyan Vegeta's most powerful attack the Big Bang attack did not harm him or faze him, a powerful kick from Super Saiyan Vegeta was also not able to cause any physical damage to Broly in this form and even Goku himself was in awe of this form and could feel its energy even in the farthest distance from Broly. It is highly likely that this was the form that Broly was in when he destroyed the galaxy (he blew it up with a powerful energy attack) because Paragus' has never removed this device from Broly and this is the farthest form the device allows Broly to take so even this restrained form he was able to destroy a galaxy. In addition this form gives Broly a slightly darker skin tone almost brown if noted, his hair is straighter, spikier and longer than his previous normal form and it has a blue/purple color and his hair stands slightly upwards with no bangs of hair hanging over his forehead. This form increases Broly's muscular mass vastly from his previous form and his facial features are sharper.

Super Saiyan


This is Broly's base Super Saiyan form that makes its first appearance during Broly: Second Coming. This Super Saiyan form is more powerful than the average Super Saiyan form given the fact that Broly is actively the Legendary Super Saiyan and that the Restrained Super Saiyan form Broly possessed due to the device restraining Broly's power however without the device on his forehead this is his base Super Saiyan form which he uses to effortlessly toy with Videl and beat her to a near-death point. The power that this form granted Broly was enough for him to completely dominate and defeat Super Saiyan Goten and Super Saiyan Trunks, beating the Super Saiyan duo to the point of them reverting back to their normal forms. This form was also powerful enough to briefly manhandle Gohan and overwhelm him somewhat. In addition this form slightyl increases Broly's muscular mass in proportion to his height and size, his skin tone is lighter and his hair is a green-yellowish color closely resembling that of a normal Super Saiyan and is spikier than his previous form and stands upwards. Broly's facial features are also much sharper than his previous form. Broly seemed to be calmer in this form than in his other forms and kept a stern look on his face for most of the time he was in this form.

Legendary Super Saiyan


Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan form is highly different from his previous forms. This form dramatically increases Broly's size and height in proportion to his abnormal muscular mass so that he maintains a proportional body, this forms colossal muscles almost resemble The Ultra Super Saiyan form. Broly's hair in this form grows in length and stands upwards and his hair becomes spikier than his previous forms and is completely green in color. Unlike all Super Saiyan forms the flame-like aura in this form is green and not golden or yellowish, in this form Broly has no pupils or irises and his eyes are completely white being a reference to "Blind Rage" given Broly's psychotic personality. Broly's weight also increases dramatically in this form as he becomes a colossal monster and it has been noted that when he walks the ground slightly quakes evidencing his great weight. This form's power is phenomenal and grants the user incredible strength, speed and durability along with other physical attributes. When in this form Broly was able to easily dominate Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku, Full Powered Super Saiyan Gohan, Super Vegeta, Super Saiyan Trunks and Piccolo with no effort and once beating them with exception of Piccolo to a near death point until Piccolo arrived with Senzu Beans that healed the Z Fighters' fatal wounds. In fairness to Broly he was manhandling Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku (who was well equal in terms of power to PerfectCell however did not possess his stamina), Full Powered Super Saiyan Gohan (Nearly as powerful as Perfect Cell), Super Vegeta (Who's power overwhelmed Cell (absorbed Android 17), Super Saiyan Trunks (Who was supposedly physically stronger than Perfect Cell but lacked speed) and Piccolo (Who was more powerful than an average Super Saiyan as he was equal to Android 17 in power). Broly's durability to physical damage is also well noted as he survived a full power kamehameha wave from Full Powered Super Saiyan Goku at blank point range without fazing nor sustaining physical damage and simply smiled at Goku's attack and that kamehameha was able to knock Cell several meters away, he was able to withstand a combined energy blast by Super Saiyan Trunks and Full Powered Super Saiyan Gohan. During Broly: Second Coming he was able to virtually physically dominate Adult Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and withstood his attacks without sustaining any visible physical damage. Another feat of power done by Broly in this form is overpowering a full power super kamehameha wave being fired by Super Saiyan 2 Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and Super Saiyan Goten with his own attack and would have defeated them if not for Trunks' interference. In this form he was also able to easily destroy a planet with an energy ball the size of his palm. This form grants him a great deal of speed as well as he was able to effortlessly dodge the combined close ranged blows from Goku and Piccolo. His strength is virtually allowed him to punch through mountains and his durability allowed him to easily withstand magma. One cannot reach The Legendary Super Saiyan form by means of training because a Saiyan is chosen to be one every thousand years. Due to this form's various feats of power some fans believe it to be comparable to Super Saiyan 3. As Long as Broly sustains this form his power will increase dramatically granting him virtually limitless power. He is functionally one of the most powerful Saiyans to ever exist.
