Born to Kill

Born to Kill is an anime episode of Bubblegum Crisis that was released on 09/05/1987

Plot Summary

Shortly after the events of the previous episode, two Boomers SCUBA dive into the ruins of the orbital laser strike, supervised remotely by Mason. Meanwhile, a test of a Boomer at a Genom lab goes horribly wrong, causing a massive explosion, killing everyone there. The following day, Leon and the AD Police begin their investigation. Linna on her own asks the Knight Sabers to investigate, as the boyfriend of Irene Chang, one of the women in her aerobics class was killed in the blast. The USSD also asks the Knight Sabers to investigate as well, as there was some prototype USSD technology that they suspected was at the blast site.

The Knight Sabers spread out to investigate. Priss goes on a lunch date with Leon to get information out of him, while Nene and Sylvia's brother, Mackie, investigate the AD Police Database. Priss learns from Leon that he suspects Genom was working on a military Boomer (something that would be illegal to do in Japan). That evening, Linna and Irene go shopping and out for dinner, to take Irene's mind off of things. Mason's Boomer agents have Linna's car towed, splitting up the two, and then they try to kill Irene. Linna and Priss figure out what is going on, and try to stop the murder attempt, but fail.

Priss and Linna swear vengeance, and the Knight Sabers head out for the research facility they suspect the military boomer is being developed at. The team throws down with Mason's Boomer bodyguards, along with the prototype, ultimately destroying the facility in the process - with Mason quietly escaping, unseen. The following day, Linna and Priss pay their respects at Irene's grave.
