The imaginary events that goes on in your head when you are asleep. In some anime's they can bring important messages or to haunt a person. |

Someone who loves to consume alcohol, and typically overdoes it. |

Fan Service
Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual. |

Fatherhood as a concept. A man who has conceived or raised a child. |

The "Gainax Bounce" refers to breasts bouncing around gratuitously in anime, often in ways that seem to defy physics. |

The term "harem" is frequently used to describe manga and anime series that feature one man surrounded by a variety of female romantic candidates. |

A character, often cold and harsh on the outside; but swirling with feelings inside. Much like an igloo, they keep an ice-cold wall, in an ice-cold world; just to protect the warmth inside. |

Magic is an often used term in fiction. It is the concept of affecting the universe through supernatural methods and breaking the physical laws. |

A fantasy sub-genre that features girls who magically transform into super-heroines and combat evil. |

Common visual conventions seen in manga and anime to convey emotions, often for comical effect. |

Moe
Moe (pronounce moh-eh) is a Japanese slang term for something one likes, and within the anime realm is used to refer to characters who inspire a protective sort of love-- usually because the characters seem to need someone to take care of them. |

Moronic character
The kind of character always gets into trouble by his or her bad luck, silliness, and/or cluelessness. A common source of comedy. |

A woman who has given birth to or raised a child. |

Ojou
A character with an arrogant, bossy attitude, often rich and with some princess-like heritage. |

Potential Love Interest
The character has a chance of ending up with the protagonist. It means either the protagonist or the heroine(or maybe both) have feelings for the other. |

Protagonist
The main character of a story or plot. Most forms of fiction have the protagonist as a hero but there are rare occasions with an evil or not-so-noble protagonist. |

Romantic Drama
Romantic Drama is a concept used in series to create tensions of highs and lows in order to leave the audience in suspense over an outcome in a romance based series. |

Sadist
A Sadist is a type of person who attains gratification out of witnessing the suffering of others, either physical or emotional pain. |

Shōnen
Literally means "boy" in Japanese, but is also used to refer to Japan's biggest manga demographic: pre-teen and teenage boys. |

Female members of a family that share the same parents. |

Strike a Pose
It is not uncommon for anime heroes and villains to strike over the top poses to make a point, usually about how manly or evil they are. |

Twins are children who are born on the same day from the same mother. Though not always identical. |

Literally meaning "Absolute Territory", zettai ryouiki is the area of uncovered thigh between the skirt and the knee sock. |
