Blanka is a feral, orange haired creature capable of doing electrifying attacks. He was known as jimmy as a youngster, but was lost to a plane crash that separated him from his mother. He is reunited with his mother in his Street Fighter 2 ending.
Since then, Blanka has been a regular in the Street Fighter franchise.
Following the stories in the Street Fighter Alpha/Zero games, it's established the Blanka is best friends with Dan Hibiki, who's life he had saved years ago during his travels, and from whom Blanka had learned how to speak.
In his first and only anime appearance (Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie), he was pitted in a fight against Zangief, in front of many awe-stricken onlookers at a hotel where a huge convention is held.
