Warning : Minor spoiler !
Here's the thing go crazier.
Yeah, this volume contain the final chapter of Blame. It's been a crazy ride here. We had some cyborg tribe, a quest for a genetic terminal in an endless city and an almost pathologicaly mute hero. It's still basically the same in this volume, but we sense that we go into the end of the road.
The good news is, Art have been improving since the Beginning of this serie, and it's still improving here. The action is still crazy with mass destruction and blindly fast move, rather good drawed by Tsutomu Nihei.
The bad news is that you don't have clear answer here. Yeah, if you're not an afficionados of cyberpunk and Sci-Fi, you will find the ending frustrating. Hell ! Even I, as a Cyberpunk fanatic, I find myself wondering "What am I reading anyway ?"
So yeah, the ones who began this serie and have made the effort to enter the wonderfully fleshed universe by Tsutomu Nihei will feel betrayed, even more if they don't have the Key of the "genre" that is Sci-fi and Cyberpunk.
But on the other way, this manga will go to the end of the logic it has began, so the treason is only minor, and become even less bearable to me as I've re-readed this issue. So the whole serie can be placed as a piece of art as it force yourself to find your own interprtation of it.
The lack of climax is a little prejudice of this volume, though.
I give it a 3.5.
