A rag-tam team of adventurers unite to become "deliverymen" in the criminal city of Roanapura.
Rokuro Okajima is a Japanese salaryman working for a giant corporation that, unbeknownst to him, has some shady dealings. When he travels with a disc that has information about said dealings, he is kidnapped and ransomed back to his company, who abandons him in favor of trying to kill him and the pirates who have captured him and the disc. The group survives and Rokuro, having shown some serious ingenuity mid-battle, joins the group of pirates. The group, known as the Lagoon Company (after their boat, the Black Lagoon), is a "delivery company" consisting of a former Navy member named Dutch, a half-Chinese gunwoman named Revy, and a hacker named Benny. Together the four perform various jobs for the criminal syndicates of Roanapur, a city inhabited almost entirely by criminals who pay off the lazy local government. The series focuses primarily on the interactions of Rokuro-- now known as Rock --and Revy. The cool-minded and sometimes naïve former salaryman often clashes with the hot-headed Revy, who rarely sees beyond the filth of the world she has lived in her entire life. Name: |
