Upon investigating, Maka realized that all the souls she had been detecting were now gone. Once she entered the church, she met Crona, an evil weapon meister who uses Ragnarok, a sword which exhudes from Crona's own body. A battle ensued, during which Maka learned that Crona's blood could turn solid, preventing Crona from being hurt. Also, Crona's attacks possess a vibration attribute, which resulted in Soul being hurt whenever Maka blocked with him. near the end of the episode, Maka refused to guard with Soul anymore, but Soul transformed into his human form, taking the severe blow intended for Maka. The episode ended with blood coming from Soul after the blow.
