BG9 is a powerful member of the Wandenreich Sternritter with the designation of "K".
BG9s origin is unknown, but at some point in the past it was inducted into the Wandenreich, and then later given the designation of "K" by the Quincy Emperor and Father, Yhwach, and enducted into the elite fighting force of the Sternritter.
BG9 is an antagonist of the BLEACH series that was created by Tite Kubo, It first began serialization Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2001. It first appeared in Volume 56 of Bleach, Chapter 495, Bleeding Guitar Blues.
BG9s appearance is that of a rather tall and slender individual who wears and entire sent of armour that covers its entire body. Its attire consists of a standard Sternritter high collar white cloak which it uses to conceal its body armour and weaponry
BG9 is extremely cold and calculated, willing to exploit the feelings of others in order to gain information, which is shown when it tried to emotionally blackmail Marechiyo Ōmaeda by threating to kill his sister Mareyo Ōmaeda and the rest of his family who were in close proximity to them to gain the information it was seeking.
It was also shown to be highly analytical, using collected data to access individuals and figure out their tactics and attacking patters. Despite this calculated and analytical nature, BG9 seems to fear death, which is shown when it pleads with Yhwach to spare its life so that it could continue to fight on his behalf.
BG9 first appears during the Wandenreichs first invasion of the Soul Society where it is first intercepted by Suì-Fēng, Captain of the 2nd Division. As Suì-Fēng releases her Bankai to combat BG9, it steals it with the Wandenreich medallion.
BG9 is not seen again until Yhwach announces to all Sternritter that Uryuu is to become his successor, and take up the designation of "A". This announcement shocks the Sternritter, and after the meeting is concluded BG9 and its fellow Sternritter discuss the announcement which leaves BG9 stating that only Yhwach himself can explain his decision.
BG9 appears once again during the second invasion of the Soul Society by the Wandenreich, and quickly proceeds to hunt down Suì-Fēng in order to kill her. Arriving at the home of Marechiyo Ōmaeda, it begins to question him as to her whereabouts and when he fails to answer BG9 proceeds to take his sister hostage. After mockingly asking him if he will be fine with his sister’s death, Marechiyo tries to attack BG9 only for the attack to fail and BG9 to draw out his minigun to kill him. Suì-Fēng arrives just in time to destroy the barrel of his minigun and catch the bullets out of the air before BG9 could kill Marechiyo.
BG9 notes the he did not detect her arrival and that there is an obvious change in her appearance as she explains that to him that she was masking her Reiatsu and that her appearance is to suit her perfected Shunko. BG9 doubts the fact that her Shunko is complete based on the data he had collected, which leads to Suì-Fēng berating BG9. Sui-Fend proceeds to power up her Shunko which causes a large vortex of wind to spiral around her body and then proceeds to thank BG9 for taking her Bankai as it gave her the push she needed to finally complete her Shunko. Taking this advantage Suì-Fēng closes the distance instantly with her advanced speed and lands a powerful blow directly into BG9 blasting it back a great distance and wrecking the surrounding area in a violent explosion. As the dust settles however, BG9 is seen standing there ready to continue the fight and attacks an unsuspecting Suì-Fēng by extending one of its many tendrils toward her at blinding speed. Suì-Fēng manages to dodge and proceeds to counter the attack herself.
After exchanging some words with one another, BG9 proceeds to show off all of the weaponry hidden in his armour and then goes on to mock Suì-Fēng, stating that it is extremely disappointed in the power of her Shunko even going so far as to state that it won't even need to use her Bankai against her to win. BG9 proceeds for fire off numerous missiles towards Suì-Fēng causing a massive explosion which she manages to avoid only for BG9 to stab her through her wrist stating that it has gathered plenty of data on her as it proceeds to set off another massive explosion which engulfs both of them in the sky.
Later as Kisuke sends the Shin'eiyaku to all the appropriate captains, BG9 is seen assimilating data from Suì-Fēng lifeless body after their clash. As Marechiyo approaches her, he places the Shin'eiyaku in her hand and it is absorbed by her soul effectively forcing her and her Bankai to hollowfy, which causes a great disturbance with the primary functions of BG9s body due to the introduction of hollow Reiatsu. Suì-Fēng proceeds to activate her Bankai, Jakuhō Raikōben, once again and asks Marechiyo to steady her aim as she fires off her missile directly at BG9, hitting it and creating a massive explosion in the sky which engulfs BG9 completely, killing it in the process.
Not long after its defeat at the hands of Suì-Fēng, the wide spread activation of the Quincy: Vollständig momentarily revived BG9 and it is then brought into the Silburn, tied to a post next to fellow Sternritter member Cang Du in front of Yhwach and Jugram Haschwalth awaiting judgement for its failure on the field of battle. BG9 pleads with Yhwach and begs for its life stating that it's still capable of fighting for him, however Yhwach tells them they should simply be grateful that they managed to escape with their lives at all. BG9 watches on as Jugram cleaves into Cang Du with his blade killing him violently when he tries to act insubordinate towards Jugram.
BG9, as one of the powerful Sternritter, serves as one of the strongest remaining Quincy in current times. Its high level of intelligence coupled with its unique ability to gather precise data through its own body by assimilating the information from its target directly with its tendrils makes for a deadly match on the field of battle. BG9 is incredibly fast on its feet, being able to surprise noted speedster Suì-Fēng off guard mid attack and then counter before she could attempt to stop it. With numerous weapons imbedded and hidden in BG9's body, it can couple the incredible level of speed it has with a powerful offensive attack that few can effectively dodge, block or survive. BG9 is also shown to be extremely durable even without the use of Blut, being able to take a direct attack from Suì-Fēngs perfected Shunko without so much as a scratch on its body.
As a Quincy, BG9 opts to change his standard ranged weapon from the standard bow and arrow of a Quincy to something that has been modernized to be more effective in battle, A Reishi Minigun with a very high rate of fire, which BG9 can control through the many tendrils in its body. Despite never showing the ability to utilize other exclusive Quincy techniques such as Blut Vene, it can be assumed that BG9 can in fact utilize them in combat due to his high ranking in the Wandenreich command.
While never seen on panel, BG9 was confirmed to have a Quincy: Vollständig which resuscitated it after its defeat at the hands of Suì-Fēng and her lieutenant.
|Blut Vene - A skill inherently known by all pure blooded Quincy. By allowing Reishi to flow through their veins, a Quincy is able to dramatically bolster their defence to levels where they are able to fend off direct attacks from a Captains Shikai. The defence is not completely absolute however, as sufficient power is able to tear through it, such as power from a Bankai or by a sufficiently powerful individual.|
|Blut Arterie - The counter to Blut Vene, a skill inherently known by all pure blooded Quincy. By flowing Reishi through their arteries‘, a Quincy is able to boost their damage potential to incredible levels. Very little else is known about this skill, but it's said to be the only way a Quincy is able to deal sufficient and decent damage to a Bankai wielding Shinigami.|
