Member of G.I. Joe codenamed after his weapon of choice
Bazooka is 100% dead in the G.I. Joe Resolute anime, his autopsy was being performed by Doc who discovered Storm Shadow to be the murderer as a scroll was left shoved down Bazooka's throat with a challenge for Snake Eyes.
While the Resolute death of Bazooka is the only instance of him being a canon dead G.I. Joe member, Toei's G.I. Joe the Movie had Nemesis Enforcer kill him and two other members of G.I. Joe (Gung Ho and Shipwreck) in a prison break scene, while the implication Bazooka was killed was removed from the series and movie, he was not seen from again after the sequence. Officially this series only killed off one character, The Headman, but the Toei Movie clearly killed off several (including main characters who did resurface Duke, Snake Eyes, and Scarlett), the reason for the characters not being considered dead officially, is that a focus group thought it would be traumatic to children, a point likely proven by Toei's The Transformers: The Movie, which likewise killed off many main characters, both heroes and villains, much to the horror of theatre-going children and parents.
