Bang is in the Class S and is Rank 3 in the Hero Association
Not much is known about Bang's history, but he is the owner and master of a martial-arts dojo that has been passed down for generations. He had a pupil in the past named Garou who he punished and banished from the dojo for going on a rampage against his fellow pupils.
Bang was created by a mangaka who uses the pseudonym "ONE" for his webcomic One-Punch Man in 2009. In 2012, ONE was approached by Yusuke Murata to consider a collaboration between the two, and the One-Punch Man remake was the result. Bang is a supporting protagonist in the series.
Not much has changed with Bang's character, but he has become convinced that Saitama is greater than the S-class heroes despite his status unlike most other heroes.
Bang is an elderly man with spiky white hair and a matching mustache. He has tan skin and a furrowed brow but despite his age, he has an incredibly defined physique. He also has distinct bright blue eyes.
Bang is a seasoned man who tends to show respect to those around him. He has disciples at his dojo who he must occasionally disciple. But for those he acknowledges as greater than himself such as Saitama, he shows the utmost respect.
Bang is introduced in the story when he has already be given the assignment of stopping a Dragon level threat, specifically stopping a giant meteor from striking Z city, which was an impossible task. When at the Heroes Association, he meets with Genos a fellow S-class hero for the first time. He explained the pending disaster to Genos stating that it could not be averted. He advised Genos to evacuate but that he would stay behind and at least protect his dojo. When the meteor was only moments away from striking, Bang was present but notices Genos is still around and was in fact about to attempt to counter the meteor. After encouraging the frantic Genos, he witnesses the Hero's valiant attempt at destroying the meteor which his powerful lasers. The attempt as expected ended in utter failure, but just when all hope seemed lost, Saitama, a barely known hero arrive and thrust himself high above the city towards the meteor. He collides with the meteor and utterly pulverizes it. The disaster was averted although fragments of the meteor rained down causing minor wreckage. Bang prevented one of said fragments from hitting Genos and helped carry the exhausted hero away from the wreckage.
Bang is later seen when Saitama was being ridiculed and insulted publicly by Tanktop Tiger and his brother Tanktop Black Hole, mid level heroes in the association. He notes that he hoped that Saitama's will would not be broken by such people on his road to becoming a great hero.
Some time after the events of the meteor threat, Bang had formed a friendly relationship with Saitama and Genos. At his dojo, Bang performed a demonstration of his technique for Saitama and Genos. He asked if they would care to try it, but both turned him down. Charanko one of the dojo members was angered by the rudeness and challenged Genos, but was just as quickly defeated. When asked where the rest of his students were, Bang explained that one of his pupils named Garou went berserk and beat his fellow students and that Bang was forced to expel him. Saitama made a remark about Bang's strength level but it was taken as an insult by Charanko once again who once again became enraged. But before he foolishly challenged Saitama, Bang intervened and silenced him, stating that he could not use such a tone with Saitama, who was even his superior in power many times over. But moments later, a messenger form the Heroes Association arrived and informed them that an urgent meeting was scheduled at A-City Headquarters for all the S-class heroes, who were the greatest in the world.
Bang, Saitama and Genos arrive together at A-City Headquarters. They encounter S-class hero Atomic Samurai who greeted Bang and Genos who he recognized as fellow top class heroes, but not Saitama. Bang explained who Saitama was and that he would surely become the greatest of all heroes.
Later that day, A-city had it's predicted invasion by the Sky King. Despite being a fair threat himself, he is rapidly and easily disposed of by a much greater threat, that being the Dark Matter thieves who arrived from space just moments later. Directly after the Sky King's death, the entirety of A-City itself was destroyed by the Star ship of the Black Matter Thieves. Following the city's destruction came an invasion by the aliens themselves. The S-class heroes met them head on. They encounter the fearsome Melzalgald and Bang combined forces with Atomic Samurai, Puri-Puri-Prisoner and Metal Bat to defeat him, but not without sustaining heavy injury.
Bang is a martial arts master and his combat scheme seems to revolve exclusively around melee combat like fellow hero Saitama.
Bang's signature combat style. It creates a small bubble-like area where anything that enters the area is destroyed. It was powerful enough to destroy falling meteor fragments while protecting himself and fellow hero Genos simultaneously.
