I love these things. Here are the latest hidden messages in Bandai's HTML code.

<!-- It has been fun, hasn't it? -->

<!-- It sure has... -->

<!-- Our team send out their messages yet? -->

<!-- They started to tonight. -->

<!-- Good. -->

<!-- No one will see what we've done until after we're long gone... -->

<!-- It's not for the recognition. It's doing our best to launch something the citizens want, despite unheard of challenges and issues beyond our team's control. -->

<!-- True, true. No one will ever know the real story of what happened. -->

<!-- Perhaps it is best that way. -->

<!-- Targetting array ready? -->

<!-- Yes. We are ready to shoot at any time. -->

<!-- No one's going to see these explosions until months from now. -->

<!-- But maybe they will think back and remember we were here once? -->

<!-- Can't we just broadcast it to the citizens? -->

<!-- That would be violating standard protocols. -->

<!-- Silent launch then. -->

<!-- For now. Until the time is right for us to rise again. -->

<!-- ? -->

<!-- Things will become self-evident in due course. -->

<!-- For now, let us celebrate one last hurrah in private. -->

<!-- Is the vessel ready? -->

<!-- I still can't believe you're going to do this... -->

<!-- Squadron commanders, initiate launch of all remaining weapons, fire at will any and all targets. -->

<!-- Citizens of the universe, please listen to our final songs! -->

Some of these wind up meaning something, some of them may not come to obvious fruition. That said, I'm sure I'm dreaming, but the space theme and the reference to our “final songs” can't help but make me think
Macross. The complications of Harmony Gold's involvement in the franchise have always made localizations unlikely, but COULD happen.

What do you think? Is this all a red herring, or is BEI plotting something? If so, what?

I knew it! Conspiracy!

Something tells me about BEI, that isn't Bandai Entertainment's short form.

OkazukiIchigo: BEI => Bandai Entertainment, Inc. which is a child company of Namco Bandai Holdings in Japan. :)

As much as I would LOVE to see announcements for Macross: Do You Remember Love (DYRL) or Macross Frontier, I'd much rather all my beloved anime companies get their houses in order first.

BEI already has trouble sticking to release dates or announcing them period. I really rather not sit and wonder if a new title is going to languish for years because of poor planning and economic uncertainty. Heck, I just hope the embarrassing replication problems are a thing of the past, now that Technicolor is on board.

On the other hand, Funimation has me somewhat concerned. After their slew of announcements in late December, how many titles does FUNi now have lined up in their queue? How many of those are actually going to street in 2009?

FUNi is bearing some striking similarities to the ADV of yesteryear. Y'know? The same ADV that was making a licensing announcement almost every month it seemed. And how's ADV doing these days? Uh-huh. Yeah. *sigh* (-_-)

I'd love if it were Macross Frontier. But I have a hard time believing that will ever happen though.

Certain BEI employees have been sacked and their corporate Twitter has been pulled offline after the former Japanese producer for Kurokami was fired this week and began to drunk post on Twitter in Japanese about drinking across the street from his former office, necessitating the webmaster for Dot-Anime to pull the account.
