Banchina is the wife of Yasopp of the Red-Haired Pirates and mother to Ussopp of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Creation

Banchina is a supporting character in the One Piece series that was created by Eiichiro Oda. The series first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on August 4, 1997. She would later appear in the Syrup Village Arc that began in Volume 2.

Her first appearance was in One Piece Volume 5 CH. 41 "To the Sea", and her first anime appearance was in One Piece - Episode 17 "Angry Explosion! Kuro vs. Luffy! How It Ends!". Her character in the Japanese series is voiced by ??, and the U.S. dub produced by FUNimation is performed by Clarine Harp.

Major Story Arcs

She persuaded her husband Yassop to join the red haired pirates. however when Ussop was born he learns that his mother was ill, and so everyday he would tell the same thing to her about there father coming back to help, but Bacina already knew that was untrue. Bachina soon died and she tolled Ussop that she was glad he had gone to sea. Ussop continued saying that Yassop would return even though there was no reason for him too.
