Bakemonogatari was aired this past summer in Japan. The series includes 15 episodes but, only 12 of them were broadcast. The remaining 3 will be shown on there website starting at the end of October. I should also mention that this series is based on a light novel series written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Vofan. I had just finished up watching Bakemonogatari (well, the first 12 episodes) and, I loved it. Here is the plot and the basic structure of the show taken from Wikipedia.
Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi's arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers his help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a strange middle-aged man living in an entire abandoned building, who helped him stop being a vampire.
The series tends to introduce only one new heroine per chapter, each involved with a different "apparition". Most of them have an item which symbolizes their specters,
such as Hitagi's staple - the claw of crab, Mayoi's back pack - the shell of snail, Suruga's leggings - SARUMATA(猿股, the Japanese traditional underclothing. 'SARU' means monkey.), and Nadeko's big hat and baggy jacket - the head and skin of snake. The events of the previous chapters play an important role in the subsequent ones. The series primarily focuses on conversations between characters; it contains a fair number of parodies of other series, as well as Nisio Isin's trademark word play and metahumor.
There, that was much easier then my explaining it. I love copy and paste. :)
All and all, I really loved the show. The only thing I didn't like was the length, only 15 episodes in all. I guess I'm the kind of guy who always wants anime shows to be longer, not Shin Chan or DBZ length but, more would be nice. Well, this is my first time doing this:
My score - 5/5.
I highly recommend this anime to anyone. If you are looking for something new, try this one out.
P.S. The song playing during the credits was awesome. Awesome song and I love the art style.
