The leader of the Black Order's Asia Branch. Bak is of Chinese descendent of a German wizard.
Bak Chan was born into a very wealthy family and he had a very privileged childhood, however at the same time his education was quite strict. Eventually he moved on to become Section Head at the Asian Branch and eventually Branch Chief. He has known fellow Branch Chief Komui Lee for some time but has not told his friend of his somewhat over the top crush that he has on Komui's younger sister, Lenalee and he will go to lengths to make sure that Komui does not find out as he is overly protective of Lenalee.
Bak Chan is a supportive protagonist created by Hoshino Katsura for the series D. Gray Man.
Bak Chan is a young looking man of 30 years of age, although he looks even younger. He is Chinese with some German descent. His hair is blonde and messy and he has fair skin. He has a rather lean figure and is not very tall. He wears the exorcist uniform, rather similar to Allen's but with more white in the color scheme. Bak has tattoos on both arms and the reason is because they are in fact spell contracts marked on his body.
Bak Chan is rather pompous as he grew up in a highly wealthy and education heavy household. He refers to himself as "Sama" (Lord) except when angry where he uses the more common and casual "Boku". However he is a good man. He is valued as a genius and one of the few Branch Chief leaders, however he is a bit perverted and he stalks Lenalee Lee, the sister of his equal Komui Lee.
Fo - A cybernetic "Spirit" created by Bak's Family. She responds to Bak's summons and obeys him in all things and seemingly has a small crush on him.
It was Bak Chan's Asian Branch that found the nearly dead Allen Walker after his defeat at the hands of Tyki Mikk. They took Allen in and restored his health, however they could not heal broken innocence which Allen had suffered. Instead Bak decided to tray and train Allen at an accelerated pace to regain his innocence power. Bak left it to Fo to see to this task. Over days of struggle and depression swings on Allen's part, they had made minor progress. However it was only when the Asian Branch was attacked by a level 3 Akuma that gave Allen the push that he needed. Fo and Bak were the only defense available at the Branch and they were no match for a level 3 Akuma. Bak could do nothing for Fo or his allies with his limited offensive power but Allen asked that he be allowed to help Fo. With extreme reluctance, Bak allowed it. Although initially powerless, the stress of the situation like it so often did before, reignited Allen's spark and his innocence was restored. He defeated the level 3 Akuma swiftly but then requested to be transported to Edo where his allies were fighting for their lives against the Earl of Millennium and the Noah.
After the events in Edo came to a close, Allen and the rest of his allies and captured the Noah's Ark Gate from the Noah. It was taken to the Asian Branch for inspection and experimentation. Bak himself was among those researching the Gate. But he was informed that Malcolm C Leverrier had summoned him and the other Branch Chiefs around the world. Bak answered the summons and attended the meeting wherein, Malcolm accused General Cross Marian and Allen Walker of possible treachery. Bak stood in attest but Komui Lee interfered and bade Bak to be silent.
Bak Chan inherited his Family's magical teachings and hence became known as a Sorcerer. The exact limits to Bak Chan's magic magic are unknown but thus far he has shown the ability to summon and dismiss Fo at will. He can to some extent, manipulate the structure of rooms in his Branch of the Black Order.
Bak Chan is said to be as ingenious as Komui Lee in this regard.
