She gets bullied by the seniors in her club when she gets picked for the main team. This causes a gap to open in her heart. after she gets possessed she can't seem to improve her time. Which causes her to become more depressed. She fakes an injury to try to get out of the competition.

Keima confesses to her and encourages her to try her best and that he will cheer her on. After her capture her attitude towards Keima changes. Despite loosing her memories she shows concern and possible feelings for Keima. She is best friends with Chihiro Kosaka. After Keima fights with Chihiro, ayumi talks to keima and tells him to make up with Chihiro. After the competition she joins Chihiros band the "2b Pencils". She is the lead guitarist and backup singer. She is a possible carrier of a Goddess spirit.
