Awashima is a Yokai (Amanojaku) who live in Tono Village. During the daytime, Awashima is a male, while on the night Awashima turned female.

Origin

Awashima is an Amanojaku Yokai. He believe that his heart is a man, while he may turn female during night time (much like how Rikuo turn into a Yokai in night time). His weapon is a katana.

Creation

Awashima was created by Hiroshi Shiibashi. He made his first appearance in Nurarihyon no Mago : Demon Capital Episode #6. His Manga debut was at Act #70. He was voiced by Ryōka Yuzuki.

Awashima has a short brown yellowish hair. He has brown eyes and always has a stick in his mouth. He wear a red robe over a green Kimono with white cloth on the inside. He wear a black pants and japanese traditional sandals and socks. When Awashima turn into a woman, his eyelashes grow a little longer.

Awashima is a Yokai who strongly believe that his heart is a man instead of woman. He also take responsible in chopping firewoods as he said to Rikuo when they first met in training field.
