Due to Legend of Korra being the big buzz in June and July of 2012, I had this idea that is similar to a battle thread where you guys and gals talk about who is the better Avatar. It's a bit late, and I apologize for it.

First off, let me do some background info on these two series.

For those who are new to series, the original Avatar series revolves around Aang who is the new Avatar that disappeared from the world 100 years ago. Katara and Sokka find Aang imprisoned in an iceberg. After freeing Aang, the siblings aid Aang to help him master all of elements in order to defeat the Fire Lord and to end the war.

For Legend of Korra, here's a synopsis written by Wales:

Seventy years after the Hundred Years War, Avatar Aang has passed on and the time has come for the new Avatar to be selected. Finding a young waterbender named Korra, it is evident she is the new Avatar as she sets off to begin her training of the four elements. Already having mastered fire, earth, and water at a remarkably early age, she has one element left to master: air. With a mass shortage of airbenders in the world, the responsibility is left to a man who knew Aang too well: his youngest son Tenzin. However, Tenzin cannnot train Korra in the South Pole so she must relocate to Republic City; the iconic city Aang and Fire Lord Zuko created to be a center of peace in the world between benders and non-benders.

However, Korra quickly discovers that beneath the beauty of the city lies the underbelly of crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to tear republic city apart. Knowing that her responsibilities involve keeping the city peaceful, she discovers new allies in the form of pro-bending brothers Mako and Bolin and an even greater threat than she ever could have imagined. The leader of The Equalists, Amon. Behind the mask is a scarred man who has a power that makes even the quick tempered and fierce Avatar crumble to her knees.

Personality: Aang is a pacifist at heart, and he tends to avoid conflicts and solve things without fighting. He is not a serious person. He would rather goof off and do things fun before getting down to business. Though, he is determined to protect his friends and save the world.

Bending: Aang didn't master all the elements. Firebending is pretty difficult for him. For advanced bending, Aang can freeze water, but he cannot bend metal like Toph or shoot lightning like Zuko.

Personality: She is the opposite of Aang. She's blunt, aggressive, and a bit hotheaded and rather use action to solve her problems.

Bending: Unlike Aang, she pretty had every element under her belt except for air. Due to her personality and fighting style, she cannot master airbending well or tap into the Avatar State. She does not have a strong spiritual self like Aang does. In advanced bending, Korra does not have any skills.

I'll leave it at the point.

Who is the better Avatar? We can talk about character wise, strengths, and more .

Thank you for reading this blog.

I see no one has replied to this lol.

Misconception, Aang did learn all 4 elements. Korra did learn the elements a lot faster than him, but this is pretty much who's the better Avatar. Aang is the better Avatar HANDS DOWN. There really isn't much to discuss about here. Korra has failed to create peace throughout her world. Aang always found the best way for people to coexist with one another. Even within the fire nation he taught many kids how to dance and to express them self's. Aang not only had to deal with more political problems, but he also had to deal with more spiritual problems as well. From fighting mountain sized Spirits to confronting the most dangerous of them all. c

So if we create a list on who created the biggest balance throughout their lives, then Aang easily. He wasn't even Korra's age and he had already dealt with more problems. Aang was a talk first type of guy, but Korra being the opposite of that she created a lot of problems. Aang also RARELY lost to anyone. Matter of fact he pretty much pwn'd most of the people who challenged him. They thought he was weak simply because he was a kid and was skinny. Korra is very arrogant and rarely learns from her lessons. She currently isn't as cocky as before, but she's still doubting her ability to save everyone. Avatar's are some of the wises people, Korra as old as she is well.. pretty much still growing up. Korra was pretty much baby'd. Nurtured as an Avatar, and never had a chance to expand her self.

She's in fact the strongest Avatar shown, yet ironically she's the weakest. All her feats were pretty much given power, or assistant in some way.

Thanks for the comment. Sometimes, making threads is like fishing. Some topics are more hotter than others. We don't have a lot of Avatar fans. I don't really remember making this blog.

I have no idea what I was writing when I saw the mistake on Aang. I must have thought back then when Aang couldn't do fire bending until he had Zuko's help.

I honestly don't follow Avatar like that. I like aspects about both. I know that the overwhelming opinion on the forums tends to be Aang but Korra has a large enough fan base.

I honestly don't follow Avatar like that.

What do you mean by that?

Now, I remember why I made this thread. It was before DHK made the The Avatar Club. I wanted to make a thread to get some folks hooked on Avatar and fans who love Avatar to have something to discuss on. I probably lock this in favor of the discussion thread.
