In a world where clans and tribes and dot landscapes, there are many powerful people. Focused on spiritual enlightenment, and the art of "bending elements," the impossible becomes possible. The most notable clans are the Airbenders, Earthbenders, Firebenders, and Waterbenders. Though, even amongst these, the most powerful is that of "The Avatar"
Possessing great power and limitless potential, the avatar is a force that attempts to balance and protect the world. This avatar is no mere person, but is a concept eternal. As one Avatar passes, another individual "becomes" the next avatar, tasked with their great work. Also, the cycle of rebirth is random in person, but methodical in order, rotating from clan to clan (I.E. as Fire bending Avatar dies, a Air bending Avatar is born.)
Aang is happened upon by two siblings of the southern clan of waterbenders. Katara and Sokka tell Aang of the war 100 years ago, and he sets about to avenge his clan and fulfill his duty by destroying the fire nations army. He sets about to achieve this goal by first mastering all four bending techniques, a task that would lead him down many misadventures and complications.
His teacher for water-bending was no other then one of the siblings that found him. The oldest siblings name is Sokka and the younger girl is Katara. Katara is a young amateur water bender that Aang develops feelings for. When the two siblings finally decide to go with Aang on his journey the enemy appears.
The banished prince of the fire kingdom appears. His name is Zuko he was banishes by his father for speaking out of his place. His own father punished him by giving him the ultimate most shamefully curse of all. One his face he bears the mark of a banished prince with only one way to get home, to capture the Avatar.
Aangs trio merely escapes death leaving Zuko in the dust. Soon the heroes realize their goals they need to achieve on their journey. First they must teach Aang the other three elements fire, water, earth.
They encounter new friends and enemies on their journey. But in the last battle everyone unites to fight the fire lord because not every hero has to stand on their own.
Aang- known by many names such as the last airbender, the chosen one and especially by the name "The Avatar". Aangs realization of being the Avatar comes to quite a shock to him. Ever since the news of him being the avatar came out he's been treated differently. So he tried to run away from his fate. But in the end he realizes that these decisions aren't supposed to be made by him, this journey he has to take is his destiny.
Katara- katara is one of the heriones of our story. She was also the one that found Aang and made this story come to life. Her mother was killed by the fire nation and her father went to fight the fire nation.
