Albert and Franz, the sons of wealthy and noble families from Paris and  travel to Luna for the carnival and meet The Count of Monte Cristo. They are invited to the count's home for dinner and later on to watch a public execution and choose from one of the three condemned  prisoners to pardon. Albert ends up being seduced by a young girl who later pulls a gun on him.
